Front-End Cleaning

(1/1)

bc:
Thought I'd ask this here instead of the cleaning/detailing forum, as it's Springer-specific ...

How do you keep the Springer front-end clean & polished?  That is, in and around the springs themselves?  It's actually one of the things that kept me away from Springers in the past - the worst place to collect crud is right up front, and the springs look like a pain to clean.

Also, anyone have any spring rusting or other plating problems from the coils being in contact with one another?

My springs have not been a problem but I am damm pickey  I wrap a clean rag and some quick detailer spray on it and just polish it.....

I guess what I was thinking (show's the error in THAT) was that if you really wanted to detail it out, you'd be trying to hit the full circumference on every coil.  Sounds like you don't find that necessary.

beerman:
S100 and a Paint brush with about 1/2 the bristles cut off
That, and about 13 bottles of Windex over the last 10 years
I now own 2 Springers - a 1997 Heritage and the 2007 SE
