Post by: MontSE103 on January 23, 2018, 08:42:50 PM
Does any one out there have any experience with this radio head unit Sirius XM Harley-Davidson Stereo AQ-MP-5UBT-HS?

https://www.aquaticav.com/where-to-buy/online-store/harley-davidson-products/harley-davidson-stereos/siriusxm-harley-davidson-stereo/

Any help will do?

Direct replacement for the base bikes; not for the CVO bikes.  No connection for the overlay harness that's in the CVO bikes to drive the amps and other accessories in the system.

I had it on one of my past bikes,  2010 CVO Street Glide with a Jl amp driving focal speakers. Sounded pretty damn good.

This is related to Road Glides:

I don't have any specific information on that unit, can tell you this though, on my '11 SERGU I had TWO Sony units put in in a two week period. Could not see screen in daylight on first unit which had CD player, second unit which had Ipod tray was a LITTLE better, but both were almost impossible to see in day light because of angle and small screens.

I will NEVER replace a factor head unit after spending that crazy amount of money and not being able to see the screens. Was sound better? Yes, but options were not accessible while riding as screen was not viewable and so small it was unsafe to try and change things on unit safely.

I am really advising you to sit on a  bike with the unit you want to install first and turn it on to see what I mean about the small screen at a terrible angle.

I know HD has a lot to improve with their screen layout on the Road Glide (How about an adjustable tilt screen?) but still, it was engineered to be used on a  bike, the others.....Car stereos adapted for use on a bike

2004 CVO. Running 6" X 9" Focal Speakers in the rear and 6.5" Focal Speakers in the fairing with a Focal FDP Sport 175W RMS 4-Channel Amp.

The Aquatic unit will work fine. The only drawback is that it only has low level outputs on the rear channels. You will have to use the high level front outputs into your amp or only use the rear and loose the ability to fade front to back.
