Wire diagram help
« on: February 07, 2018, 07:41:23 PM »

I have a 2015 CVO Limited, and while installing the WHIM kit I have found a couple connectors not used and also a module with antenna lead that I want to figure out what they are for.
This module is mounted on the front right corner of the amplifier mounting bracket and has a antenna lead mounted to the right inner fairing speaker cover and a 1 inch mast. This right above the GPS antenna.
I know a picture would help. And will try to post 1 later. Any help would be great

The module with the little stub antenna is for the power locks.  Will need a photo to try to identify the unused connectors.

;D    H-D must not want you to approach from the rear for some reason

I can't help but wonder if the system wouldn't work much better if that antenna could be relocated.  Funny how the remote locks work so much better on cars and trucks, from pretty much any approach angle and at a much longer distance.

Agreed. Same goes for a single key & fob combination. If all the cars have it then surely it isn’t rocket surgery..........

Here is a picture of the 2 wire connector
Not sure what that connector is for - perhaps the front fender tip light on non-CVOs?  In any case it looks like the same one we used to get power to a buddy's Garmin GPS on his 2017 Limited.  If it is the same one it switched through the ignition / accessory switch.  You can easily verify that with a multimeter or test light.

One wire is Violet with a tracer color and the other wire is black?

I have what I believe to be a similar plug open under my fairing. If it's the same I'll grab my wiring diagram to identify.

Correct on the wire colors, Violet has power with ignition on, black is ground, power does not blink as lights do as the alarm sets.

Just found this. Wire not all the way in connector. Pulled it apart and see I need to straighten it and fix the retainer.
