How is the sound quality? How does the new Harley whim and wireless headset compare in volume and tone? Bass? Treble? highway noise?

2014 so before I drop a grand on all the pieces and flash just to loose a cord...

Just completed installing it on to our 15 Ultra , it's a pretty easy job just a couple hours tops taking my time , pull the tank pull that cover for the harness take off the outer fairing, amp and bracket. Install the module,  harness and put everything back on as needed.
Will take the bike for the flash soon.
Than I can give feed back on the sound.

That thread was more about setting up the whim...Think one response to actual sound...

Second "pulled tank?" To run a cable?

Sound is about the same, maybe a little better than the head sets that came with my 15CVO Road glide ultra.

Yes, the tank is pulled to run the cord from the WIM to under the seat.  This is for updating the WIM with a laptop when needed.  The WIM goes in the fairing.

There is  USB cable for diagnostic that is recommended to be located inside the right side cover for dealer use.
The local dealer stated they just wrap it up and stuff it inside the fairing.
While the tank and harness cover was off I did find a couple with that had been pinched between the bottom and top harness tunnel cover, no nuts holding the Amp to the mounting bracket and also a 2 wire connector with the positive pin pushed part way out of the connector.

I just ran the usb update cable to the right side of the frame just below the steering head and cable tied it to the others going under the tank. That way I can easily access it without taking the saddle bag off to take the side cover off and put it all back together.
But to answer your sound quality question, I agree with Dave, it seems better than the wired units.
