No AM/FM Reception After Winter Storage
« on: April 22, 2018, 07:25:02 AM »

Well, I was finally home when there was a decent day to ride. I fired up the bike after winter storage and took off. I switched the Boom Audio head unit from Media to FM and the the station numbers just kept scrolling with static, tried AM as well and the same thing happened. I thought bad antenna/loose connection, so I rode over to the dealership and picked up and antenna. When I got home I switched it out and no change whatsoever. I have never had this issue before, but something must have lost contact internally on the Boom audio head unit. Will see what dealer says on April 30. but my guess is something failed internally.

That does seem strange.  Possible any little critters may have chewed on the wiring while it was in storage?

Update: Even after I put a new antenna on and told the dealer that I did, and had no AM/FM or WB tuning, they put another antenna on. Guess what, the bike still did not tune any AM/FM or WB channels. Head unit got replaced for the second time in 20K miles and 2.5yrs. Thank heavens for extended service contracts, $2300.00 repair. It just paid for itself!
