Road Tech™ zūmo 660 GPS Navigator
« on: July 26, 2009, 08:40:25 AM »

Posted this feature in another thread but thought others looking at getting a 660 might be interested in this feature that the Garmin 660 doesn't have.

Add Traffic, Weather and Radio
XM® Radio and XM NavTraffic® with Weather Elements available with purchase of XM Antenna and subscription

You can see complete specs here - Road Tech™ zūmo 660 GPS Navigator and compare the Garmin 550 to Garmin 660 here 550 vs 660 where it shows the Garmin 660 not having
XM capabilities.

I'm amazed at the price too Gary, you can buy it cheaper than the Road Tech 550 and cheaper than the Garmin 660.

My optimistic side is hopeing that this is something that Garmin is releasing new for HD on the 660 because I'd love a 660 with those capabilities.  My realistic side knows that someone did a quick cut and paste and didn't know what they were dealing with.

Harley already has the HD version of the 660 on their Accessories Areas on their website.

no XM, is kind of surprising.  maybe they will have a better model 770? with xm.  I do not think that the 450 had xm either.

FYI if you are an AMA member, you can buy at a discount direct from Garmin.  The AMA price on the 660 is $671.95 according to the Garmin website.  It does not mention anything about XM radio compatability.  :nixweiss:

The H-D website implies thta you can ADD XM capability: "Add Traffic, Weather and Radio
•XM® Radio and XM NavTraffic® with Weather Elements available with purchase of XM Antenna and subscription "

cheers!

Thanks Monty, the H-D version can be purchased from discount dealers like Chicago H-D and others for $599.95.

The reason the HD version is cheaper is because it doesn't come with a motorcycle mount. You can buy the HD handlebar or fairing mount separately, but I'm going to try a RAM mount instead.

I believe the mount that comes with the Garmin version is a RAM mount.

It doesn't look like they have a fairing mount for the Road Glide yet.

Just looked at the 2010 catalog and it did not say anything about XM capabilities for the 660 Road Tech. I did not get into the description just the bullets listed under item.

Anyone else see this or read up on it in the catalog?
