Legal max output is 4 watts, you can take it to a good cb shop and have it turned up and let them set swr's, don't think you will ever get good range because the radio and antenna are to close and low to ground. The radio i run in my tractor trailer dead keys 10 watts and swings around 50 watts and antenna is mounted on top of mirror mounts, the best i can do is about 10 to 12 miles.

NOTHING or at least not much. First off, there is no ground plane with the antenna set up and there is nothing you can do to create one, secondly the output power of the CB built into the OEM radio can not be modified to produce more power, lastly, the battery and charging system will not support an add on illeagle amplifier. Some things you can do to help a little, clean up the poor connections at the antenna side, make sure the antenna cable has no crimps in its path, tune the antenna for optimum SWR;s and or add an after market antenna 1/4 antenna with a better load coil then what comes with the bike. I've actually saw a guy that installed a K40 on his Harley and claimed he got a big improvement. He modified the mount to make it happen and actually did clean job. Thats it, about all you can do. At least that i know of...  :nixweiss:
