Dumb Question about Stereo system!
« on: August 07, 2009, 08:21:27 PM »

Is there a difference in stereo systems between a regular Street Glide and the CVO Street glide, i have been looking on the Harley site but it does not explain which stereo systems come with which, i am debating trading in my FATBOY for a Street Glide, i want the Screamin Eagle, but the price difference is huge! I have decided that the Touring bike will suit me better, and i love them Streetglides!

I don't know for sure, but I thought the  2009 CVO's had the 80 watt amp, compared to the 40 watt amp in the std bikes. However, I was just scratching my head in studying the 2010 CVO specs and they are now quoting 40 watts??  I dunno??

The CVO and standard StreetGlide both have the same Harmon kardon Stereo. The Ultra is the only CVO that has the upgraded amplification.

Cvo's are a great bargain!!

First I bargained with my wife to get one
Then I bargained on what color to get
Then I bargained for the "Tune up"

I think you can tell where this is going, Cvo's are a bargain :huepfenlol2:

They are a bargain until you try to sell 'em  ;)    Every std Harley I've owned over the years held it's value extremely well. In fact a couple I got within $1K of what I paid after 3 to 4 years. I'll be lucky to get 60% of what I paid for this thing.  In fact the SED's are often going for only $1 to $2K over the standard Deuces. I'm a bit shocked how poorly they hold their value. Don't quite get it.

Depends on how long you keep it. It's a good deal if you add up all the extras that are bolted to the SESG. You can't build one with all that for the price. Now if you just added what you specifically wanted, then you would be better off with a customized SG.  Most of the time when you sell you never get all the money for all that chrome back anyway.
