Version of HD Bluetooth module?
« on: August 22, 2009, 10:48:55 AM »

Could you guys with the HD Bluetooth module tell me the version of firmware yours has?  (To display in, be in phone mode, and press 1, 3, and OK all at the same time.)

Thanx!  :drink: :drink: :drink:

Thanks Jacques, not to worry!  It's really not a difficult job to install by the way - you could do it in an afternoon, just in case that's why you are putting it off till Winter.  Or maybe you are just busy with your new business, of course!  :2vrolijk_21:

1,3, & ok = version 6.0.0

Seems to be a very good version!  Same as my friend has, and it's late enough to pair with most phones, and display the Service Provider and "Pairing Now" while pairing.  Latest version was 8.0.3, though I've no idea what the changes were.

I've had my water damaged one repaired, I'm pleased to say!  :huepfenjump3:

Mine is an eary one and it is version 6.0.
Is there any way to upload a newer version?
Any improvements?

V6 isn't that early!  The early ones did not say "pairing now" or display the name of the provider.  There's no way any more to reflash to newer firmware, sadly.  Quite a few differences in the 8.0.3 - allows you to set the language, and has a "calls" section, to show call history (in and out) and missed calls. Great if I could find a phone to pair with it!

I'm now using a Blackberry Tour. Only limitation I have found is that it will only recognize the first 250 (or so) names in the list. I have 450+ numbers stored in the phone and will only show up to the letter "R". Caller ID will still show the incoming number, just without a name tag associated to it.
Still, I'm a happy camper to have it!

My "main" phone is an HP iPaq.  It happily pairs with my <early, pre-version 6.0.0, no "pairing now", no provider ID, no caller ID> original module, and with the new one.  BUT - in both cases, it says "Phonebook upload not supported". So I got (free, from my son) an old Sony Ericcson T610 that worked with the HFM.  A pain having to move the SIM card between phones, but I could live with that.  It also happily pairs with V6.0.0 modules (my friend has one), but will not pair with the V8.0.3 module.  The phone thinks it has paired, the module thinks different!  So I got a brand spanking new Asus-made Windows Mobile smartphone yesterday, and it paired once with the new module, but has not paired again, and nothing will make it.  Same story - the phone says it's paired, HFM says "Please Pair".  (Oh, and that one time it did pair, it didn't download the phonebook). So back to square one. I'm thinking this could get expensive, so I was hoping to find someone here also using the 8.0.3 module, to tell me which phone they had.  But I guess they aren't noticing the question....  :nixweiss:

HD offered it for awhile.  Then discontinued the part.  No longer available.

Harley part number 76408-06 is now obsolete. It was a Bluetooth module that interfaced a BT capable phone with the Harmon Karkon radio.

It's long since discontinued. It was a module that you could buy that would integrate with the HD HK Audio System and allow you to use your phone through it. (Though not all phones connected!)
