Passing lamps socket

What size socket to I need to cut to remove and reinstall the passing lamps on a FLH? Deep or standard well, six or twelve point? How wide of a cut is best, thin line or something greater? Thanks.

9/16" 6 pt; either std or deep well w/ 3/8" or so slot will work fine.
