Last night my 23 year old son was killed in a horrible motorcycle accident while on his way home, just 3 miles from the house. He was my first born and I really don't know how I'm going to move forward from this. I pray none of you never have to go through this. I just wish it was me instead of him. I love you Michael!

Sorry for your loss.

I lost my 20 year old daughter in November, things haven't been, nor will they ever be the same regardless of all the constant kind words from all those around me.
I'm very sorry for your loss, parents should never have to burry their children.

While the loss of a loved one is never easy, even when anticipated, it is most certainly the hardest when they are taken from us too soon.

Very sorry for your loss, I pray you and your family are able to work through this.
From my experiance this is going to be a long time to adjust and try to understand why this tragity has happened.
My daughter died almost 3 yrs ago, she drowned, but I believe otherwise. I was going to tell my story but this is about you and your family.
Soon you need to see a grief councelor, at first I didn't think I needed to, or maybe I didn't want to talk to a stranger about my loss, but I did many months after my loss, It really has helped, I'm down to 1 visit per month after 1 1/2 yrs. I still get emotional saying her name and now sharing this with you.
Deep breaths, remember everything about him that you can, talk about him, and when the time is right, and you will know when, see a grief counselor.

So sorry for your loss. My heart and soul ache for you and your loved ones at this terrible time.
May you find solace in your loving memories of your son.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I lost my wife in a motorcycle accident in 2010, and my new wife lost her previous husband to cancer in 2011.
It's not the same as your loss, and I know that. If you're a Christian man, seek out a Christian grief counselor if you can or if you need to. I did, and she was a tremendous blessing to me.
If you are married, I will pray for you and your wife, that you will both make it through this as a team. Remain focused on your family now during this worst time of your life.
Take it from me, you can and will get through this. You will not get over it, nor will you ever want to, but you will get stronger...but it will take a long time.
For now, recognize that each minute will seem like an hour and each time you realize he's gone, you will be shocked by that feeling, especially as you wake each morning. But know this, that feeling of shock will blessedly subside over time. The horrible pain and overwhelming impact of his loss will dissipate, and time and your faith are really the only ways that will happen. Cling to your wife and trust in the Lord for all things. He has His plans and reasons, and they may never make sense to you in this life, but one day, He will explain it all as he re-introduces you to your son.

There is nothing I can say to ease your grief but to say I will pray for you and your family.

I want to take a moment to thank each and every one who has commented on my post. I can honestly say that this has been the toughest thing our family has been through. We take it one day at a time and thank God that we have such a close knit family and a network of friends that are there for us. To the several folks who said that they too have lost a child, I am so sorry for your loss as well. This has not shaken my faith in God and I know that God has a different plan for us all and some day we will be reunited with all of the family and friends we've lost. God bless all of my fellow riders and may he keep you all safe as you enjoy the 2 wheeled life. Ride forever in Paradise Michael! I love you!
Attached is a photo from his 23rd birthday with me, his mom and his niece.
