Title: 2016 FLTRUSE - Slipon Mufflers
Post by: Raptor65 on June 18, 2017, 08:53:51 AM
Good Morning ... I just purchase a set of SVT Boneshaker Mufflers for my CVO RG Ultra (110).  I had the same on my previous 2013 FLTRX along with the Ventilator intake.  MY question is, on the previous bike, I had to install the Stage 1 tune due to the increased air flow.  On this bike, it already has the larger intake so, do I still need to install a Stage 1 tune if I am just adding free flowing mufflers?  It seems like it should already be at Stage 1.

Yes, you absolutely should consider tuning the bike. The Ventilator is a high flow intake. Your '16 is set to run very lean from the factory and anything you do which adds to the airflow will make it run leaner... and hotter. Even a stock bike benefits from a good tune. You will get much better throttle response.

This question gets asked all the time. The search function is your friend.

Thank you both for the replies.  I ended up applying the Stage 1 tune with the HD Pro Street Tuner.  It seems to run well with no issues and it feels like it pulls a little harder with the free-flowing SVT Boneshaker exhaust.

Now the bike sounds like I think it should although apparently that isn't good enough as I am considering bumping it up to a Stage 2 (117) now. It's only money, right?
