The not so much fun part of living in Florida. . Irma is on the way. . Gonna be a bad one. . Please keep your Florida friends in your thoughts. . . Stuart :(
-
Sending prayers. Keep your heads down down there.
-
We've had Houston, Louisiana and Florida (specifically south) on our prayer list at church and will keep on lifting our prayers up for y'all.
Stuart, remember there are friends inland if you need somewhere to stay, brother... :2vrolijk_21:
This goes for all our CVO friends in the path, too.

Prayers your way!

Thanks Lew. Sounds great to me. . Lots of traffic on the roads. Will you please send me the company jet??? Stuart

I wish you all the very best of luck this weekend. I was down in Daytona last year the week after Mathew and it wasn't pretty. Cant even imagine what this monster is going to do down in S Florida.
-
Run for your Lives... That is one BIG NASTY storm! God Bless!
-
Traffic is crazy with all the people getting out of Florida. Gas is hit or miss, water well that's as crazy as ever. 7 Elevens on the west coast are charging $28.00 plus tax for 24 16 ounce bottles. Rip offs all over the state. We are staying put should be fine as long as the inspectors did their job when house was built to the latest hurricane standards. Praying for all in Irmas path.
-
We decided to tough it out as well. . Storm shutters are up. The generator is ready. . Like you all saw, gas is and was really spotty and the roads were so packed trying to get north. We had an invite in Atlanta but I turned it down because of the conditions and didn't want to get stranded. I'll try to let everyone hear how are or did down here. . Send those prayers..... We sure need em. :nervous: Stuart.
-
Prayers for you & yours and all affected by this storm, Stu. Travel northbound looked rough, I-10 was no better for those heading west through here today. Looks like it's ripping up through the middle of the state. Forecast says will be a hurricane or barely short of that when it goes through east of here - if it goes that way.
Stay safe, keep us posted, all are in our prayers.

Prayers for you and everyone else in the path of this monster storm.

Thoughts and Prayers.
-
Thoughts and prayers are with you bro! Silver lining somewhere, stay strong!

As of this morning, the south east is no longer in the cone. But that could change at any time. . The west coast is looking really bad at the moment. .can only watch and keep praying. :-\ . Stuart
-
Everyone I know in Key West is staying put. I don't understand. That's probably why I can only play there but will never be a conch. Everyone who is staying put hunker down. All the good thoughts that can be mustered going your way. Irma needs a moderator.
-
Our thoughts and prayers go out t o all our friends and family in Florida. Stay safe y'all.
We have family friends living on the gulf coast, we offered our hospitality up here in Middle TN but they decided to shelter in place and ride out this beast of a storm.
Keep safe if your in the path.

Thanks to all for the Thoughts & Prayers: 2vrolijk_21:
Sitting here on the Redneck Riviera, keeping an eye on Irma (Jose too :nervous:), it seems like it will be a couple more days before we can make a decision on what to do?? 'Don't want to evacuate into the Path :confused5:
Supplies; The govt of FL seems to be doing an exemplary job at getting essential supplies, water, food, fuel, plywood, etc... to the areas in need :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:
Gouging; The AG has set up a hotline, and publicly denounced potential gouging,,, I have a feeling that most, if not all of the scumbags offenders, will be severely Fined :2vrolijk_21:
Thanks again!!

Prayers are appreciated, thanks to all!
For those in Florida, this is useful information, copied from a friend. I tried it, it does work:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you lose power this may be the only storm related info you receive. Can't hurt...be safe!!
To all my Florida friends, family or for those that aren't in Florida but have friends and family do this!
This is from Florida's Governor, Rick Scott... I just did this and got the expected response.
This is VERY IMPORTANT. Set this up now!
STEP #1-Message "FLPrepares" to 888777. You will get a text response that you're registered w/State Registered Response Team (SRRT). It will keep you informed and provide updates throughout the storm.
STEP #2-Send a 2nd message to 888777 with your zip code. You will receive updates specific to your zip code.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got several text messages confirming sign up. Last storm here texts were how we got a lot of information shared, seemed to work better than email/phone calls.

Thoughts and prayers for all in the path of this storm.
-
Still Praying for everyone in FL, and my Daughter and Grand Children in FL.
-
I have some great friends in Tampa Bay & Clearwater, hope there all OK
any updates appreciated

We left, went to Orange Beach Alabama and then Biloxi. The first time we have left in 35 years for her and 25 for me of being a Florida resident. Had hardly any damage other than a valued tree. Not sorry we left and will do it again in the future if need be, but definitely take a couple extra gallons of gas next time. Could not find gas yesterday on I-10 or I 75. Had to wake a buddy in Tampa and borrow three gallon to get on home, he drained it from his Wing. Otherwise all good.

Well here in boca Raton it could had been much worse. . In a way we were very lucky. . The storm stayed low along the Cuba coast and really hit the fla keys really bad. So for me... They prayers really helped. We have some trees down and I have no power at my business locations. I do have power at my house fortunately. . This was a bad one. But most are. . . Sincerely. . . (this time),,,,,, Stuart.

Great to hear for your family Stuart. Still praying for Floridians and responders. Long road ahead.

I do want to personally thank everyone that posted on this thread. We have a great group here and want you all to know how much I appreciate you. . It's a huge task to get this area back up but there are many wonderful crews working very hard restoring power and cleaning up. Irma was a bad one. . Stuart.

All is good here at our house never lost power a few palm fronds ripped off and a lot of leaf debris. Areas all around are a lot worse with rising waters and downed trees. Spent yesterday afternoon cutting up a huge pine tree and some oaks at a home a few miles away. Saw a elderly man and woman sitting in their front yard with a saw trying to cut the tree up. She is scheduled for knee replacements and he has a bad back. I stopped asked if they needed help and after a few minutes of trying to convince them I wasn't there to rip them off my help was free they said they could use it. Went home got my saws and went back and cut the trees up drug the brush to the street. I did get a pint of homemade blueberry jam from a friend of theirs that stopped by. Best payment was being able to help someone that needed it. Going out today to see if there I can find someone that needs a strong back
-
Attaboy Jim, thats how it's done.
GOD BLESS :2vrolijk_21:

Hey Stu! Glad to hear you made it through. Is Robmay still down in this neck of the woods? Linda & I are up in the Jensen Beach area and finally got power day before last. My folks in Jupiter only got it back on last night. Lots of trees down. We believe a tornado took out a few large trees across the canal from us. Actually the house was Chief's childhood home (small world). Hope everyone else is safe.

Hey AJ. . Was wondering where you have been. Got Power back on today in our Margate location. It was rough for us a few days. But I really can't say enough how fast fpl is getting all the power restored. Can only get better now. Last time I saw Robmay he was up near ocala. . . Stuart

Sure glad all is good.Stu. Got a message from John today and sounds like he is all good too. Still sounds like it is bad, but it sounds like it has turned out good compared to what they were originally predicting. Still hoping and praying for a speedy recovery for all
