Here in Colorado Springs we get out when we can and do deferred mods in our non-riding time. We also plan rides and look back at this past years ride photos.

Welcome from Indiana.  I guess it's cold for so long because there are great roads for riding in Colorado and they need them to cool off for part of the year.

I remember HD sleds, old AMF.  ALL snowmobiles were pigs in the 70's.  Spent more time digging them out than riding.  A big motor then was an air cooled 340.  I had a Sno Jet 340 when I was in high school.  They're amazing now and the local clubs go out and groom and mark trails and there are maps....  much, much better now....

Your winter days get shorter if you have your mods and upgrades planned to do while you can not ride.  Lots and lots of ideas here.

I remember the snow mobile days well.  My father used to work part time as an assembler of these toys back when we were young.  That got him the snowmobiles for cost.  Something like that.  We each had one, except my Mom.  Five snow mobiles all out together riding all over Northern Saskatchewan.  We could not even imagine in that time that there would be a time when there would be groomed trails, maps, requirements for helmets, heated grips and seats.  My Dad hunted and would tan the hides of moose, bear, deer etc. and then cut mittens and mucklucks for us.  Grandma knit wool mitt liners and socks.  We had the space age latest greatest in skidoo suits, also gotten in exchange for my father's efforts, and we'd seldom get home before dark.

Now, I feel like a wimp wanting heated everything on my bike.
