Vinny I moved your thread to the SESG board because that is the bike you are showing in your avatar and windshield height depends on several factors...

1. Model bike it is going on

2. Height of the person

3. Whether the person is long legged or long torso'd

4. What seat is on the bike the individual is seeking info on.

You might want to search "windshield" in this board (SESG) as there are several threads already with good information on windshields, and you might want to sit (and ride) on other bikes that are similar to yours.

One other thing to consider is if the windshield will have what is commonly referred to as a "re-curve". This will be a lip on the top of the windshield that will direct the airstream up and over the rider. You can get a shorter in height windshield if you go that route but will offer the (wind) protection of a taller windshield.

I am 5'9" and use a Clearview 8" recurve in smoke. it works great and can easily see over it.
I like it much better than the radical recurve of the Klockworks.
