There are gains to had with a tunable exhaust on all of the M8 engines. With the stock header your kinda stuck with what it is. The cat is in the middle and you have two grossly unequal exits. The engine does not react to bigger or smaller baffles in the left muffler, only the right muffler. Even then you can't really influence the shape of the TQ curve, and it will always have a louder right muffler. Our new stainless MX header is very similar to the DX. Symmetrical X collector, very equal flow and sound out both sides. Make a baffle change in the left muffler only and you can see it on the next dyno pull. Baffle and muffler selection will now play a big part in sound levels and the shape of the TQ curve. Choose wisely...

Let me know when the headpipe is ready for sale.  Then we can talk about which baffle on each side for best performance.  Performance is more important than loud.

Just finished up and finalized the new header. Finally got what I was after in the low end department.
This chart is a 107, TTS100 cams, MX Pipe, 1.75 VS 2.0 baffles. The smaller 1.75 have more TQ on the early hit and are the quietest. For me this is perfect. The 2.0 baffle has slightly more mid range and more rumble. Honestly splitting hairs.
Those that are going to keep the stock headpipe, you will need the larger 2.25 baffles to get some rumble out of it.
Adding the screens and Techmat blankets smooth the sound and drop a DB or two. If you like a harsher more aggressive sound, leave the can empty. There is no power difference either way.

And yes, that is 100 Ft pounds at 1600 RPM. :2vrolijk_21: The current trend with the M8 is clipping the dyno runs on the front side to hide the early TQ loss. You won't see that from us.

Steve - Just to clarify:  Q: This chart is showing both the 1.75" and the 2.0" cores on the same chart with the two runs?

Yes, 1.75 VS 2.0 baffle. Back to back runs with required WOT tuning changes using TTS Mastertune.
Just an FYI. Wide open throttle is not an area available for "auto tuning" with the FP3.
Again, if performance is a priority, choose wisely......

Thanks Steve.

I ordered the 2.0" cores and techmats on Friday and they were shipped same day.  You guys rock and thanks again.  We'll be watching for the release announcement of your new M8 Headers.  I'm going to hold off on a tuner for a while and contemplate my end game plans for this bike.  If I do the header I will definitely go with a TTS and a dyno.  Thanks for the advice.

- Paul.
