Head pipes
« on: May 19, 2017, 05:44:08 PM »

What head pipes do you prefer.. I have ran Bassani and had good luck with them on my old bikes.. they were true duals as that is  what I prefer.. I'm to crazy about the looks of there new pipes the routing that is.. ran thunderheader mufflers with them.. they bark when you want them to sound good at cruise..looking at fullsak 2.5 baffles and a good head pipe with non restrictive cross under prefer true dual.. i no that don't perform as well a 2/1/2 or 2/1 pipe .. I wish one of the reatailers would have a shoot off with all head pipes and one or two of there best performing mufflers

I would doubt you could do better than a complete fullsac system that has each piece tuned to the others. That includes the head pipe, muffler cores and a TTS ecm with a pre made mapping.

FWIW I'm running the magnaflow pro duals with thunder header slip ons. I'm pretty impressed with the MF. Heat coated, fit and finish too. Let me add performance wise, though, that I bent 3 of the four tabs on the TH baffles, and have a pretty good tune.

Yea I've ran thunderheader for a few years.. always liked there tone at Cruise can't beat it!! I've had a couple of buddy's that bent tabs out and picked up a little more trq.. I would stick with them on my new bike but the cones are little small for the extended bags.. wouldn't look good..!!

I may be slightly biased, but if its a 2017 we are talking about,
this pipe will be squashing up some lucky charms shortly.

That is great to hear Steve.

I'm test fitting the first production MX Pipe this morning on that 120 build. If everything is perfect, we will start building a larger run today. Because of demand, we are building a very similar 2-1 too. Basically the same pipe with a single exit.

Sorry for the thread jack!

I did some testing with this early on and and found no power advantage, just more noise with early prototypes. I may revisit this with the longer primarys that we are now working with. I'm not part of the loud crowd, but if it makes more power I could be persuaded.
