Stage IV kit

I'm considering getting a stage 4 kit on my 17 SG, can anyone give me the heads up on whether its worth the coin? Pros and cons?

I think it's cool if you rather have a big block or if you rather have a Stage 3 race kit like a hot 350 instead. My Stage 3 is good in gas until I let er rip!!!!!

I did the Stage IV (117) on my CVO. It really takes off after 3500rpm. I often find myself hitting 70mph while in 4th gear w/ more to climb.

How are you finding the ridability, still as smooth as the original 114 stock CVO ? Do you think it needs the torque and HP at the lower end rather than to the top which means i will be getting a ship load of speeding tickets ! I love fanging it off the lights having said that i kept an eye on my riding style and i pretty much take it to the red line at every gear shift (first 3 anyway)

Great to hear' my only concern with stage 4  SE 515 cam was the torque that comes in at high rpm, not great when you live in a city with red light and speed cameras all over the place.
I think I'm going to go with your option. Cheers

Just my humble opinion after riding and dyno testing a stage IV 114. The 515 cam ruins everything. Absolutely slaughters the low end power. Just the 117 kit and the 447 cam would be way better for Touring. The 447 is the only one that doesn't loose low end power. If you could get the Stage IV kit with the 447 instead of the 515, you would have a very fun ride. Not sure if they can tune that one with inside the EPA window? If warranty was of no concern. The best bang for the buck is a 124" Piston kit from Suburban Speed , TTS 200 cam and a TTS Tuner, stock heads, stock TB. 120hp/130+tq. Call it a day.

you stated when warranty runs out, what warranty do you still have after installing what the MOCO says does not work? 447 cam ina  Stage lV build. What tune are you using?

Sorry, I don't have a chart with that combo. I am gathering parts for another 120" build. This one will have stock heads and TB. Hoping to have a TTS 200 cam in time. If not, it already has the TTS 100 in it. Not sure how 11.2 compression and a TTS 100 will play together in regards to pinging, but it will be a torque monster on the bottom. Its my personal bike, so if ends up being an off idle sledge hammer with low peak HP, that's perfect. I've lost all interest in big hp numbers for my own stuff.

MY DEALERS warranty...not good any other place but that's ok. Tuned with a tts at dealer recommenation.

Well I've put a deposit down on my Stage IV kit. Now to play the waiting game as there are none in Australia.. going with the 515 cam as it comes in the kit and the want $500 just to buy the 447 cam. Try the 515 and if I don't like it I might swap over at a later date. De-catting the stock header pipe and using the SE slip ons I already have. Stay tuned for the review. Late June.

What is considered high  RPM?   The cam is at 100ft lbs just before 2500RPM seems to pull a  CVO Street glide pretty decent. naturally  its not going to pull as hard as some cams may, but then again it keeps on pulling if you like the big end.   Seem they seem to be a bit noisy to be sure.  sewing machine noise but not like some others over the years .   if you ride one up it fgood to go but if your two up loaded I understand the lesser cams.

By the numbers I'm not going to feel a lot of difference from my stock 114 till about 4000 rpm, that's when the magic happens. The bike pulls pretty good stock so it's probably going to be ok for me.
Global shortage of stage 4 kits so I've got at least a 6 week more wait to get one down under!! I'm frothing at the bit!

I have a 1000+ miles on my Stage 4-stage3 cam build.  The bike is impressive.  I am pleased with it and doubt if I will mess with it when the warranty is up. I especially like that when the bike is up to operating temperature it idles like a Harley should not at 1200 RPM like a lot of the fuel injected bikes I have heard.  So all is good.  Finally a CVO that I might actually keep for longer than a year!  Good luck with your choices.

Thinking neck bearings, anyone else got thoughts?
Never had it with the 94 FLHTCU, or 14 CVO RK.
