Best Performance 2-1
« on: August 02, 2017, 07:52:19 PM »

I currently have fullsac DX head pipe and D&D 4"" mufflers on a 2015 SERG  that has the 117 upgrade with the 585 cam.  The D&D mufflers sound good but they have 2 1/2 " cores and I want a little more low end torque and I also think  the bike would make more power with a 2-1.

What pipe has proven to be easy to tune and provides good Torque and HP?

The headpipe you have works well- switch to Crusher Mellows to pick up the low end without losing much above 5500.

Put your orig mufflers back on after adding a set of 1.75 or 2.0" Fullsac baffles.

If you go 2-1, I have had better performance from the Drago over the D&D an avg of +5 or better utilizing the 2.5 baffle and the 2.55 collector.

My FXR4 S&S V111  has a set of custom S.S. stepped 2 into 1 pipe.
My Road King V124LC build, I ordered a set of RB Racing LSR 2-1 with 2" headers. Chromed.  Still waiting for them.

I did not use the SE 259 that came in the HD kit as I thought the 585 would perform better down low. The bike runs very strong unless you bog the motor down low. Then it has some spark knock. I thought part of the problem was too large of baffles in the D&Ds
It has been dyno tuned but the numbers are off from what I have seen posted on these boards.

Torque numbers are about right for a 117 presuming that is what you have, the hp can be the combination, the tuning, the pipes ( backpressure), the heads or even the cam,

New RB Racing LSR 2-1 with 2" primary headers on S&S V124 LC motor.  Heat shields not on yet, motor has not been started yet. I can't wait to break in the motor!

136/121 are good numbers.  Texas Can you share more details on your build and who did the tuning?

My build is 117 HD drop in kit. Zero decked cyls. Front was .012 in the hole back was .009 . Cometic .030 Head Gasket, 2.120 intake from MVA head. milled heads .018 for 92 CC Chambers. No head work to speak of , just good clean up. SE 585 Cams, Fullsac DX pipe, CVO cans 2.25 Baffles .

Rode to Illinois and back over the 4th of July, 75-80 most of the time. Average 34 -36 MPG, Got stuck in traffic in St Louis for about 15 minutes 95 degrees, no problem. Had to run 91 Octane some of the time, not a peep out of it. Pretty pleased with the way it came out. Some sharp guys, doing good work and a good combination for the bike and the way I ride.
