Crap, another summer almost gone and still missing Idaho
« on: August 03, 2017, 03:45:05 PM »

One of these years.  It would suck to get dead before getting Idaho.

I don't think Hawaii counts.  Anyplace that floats and isn't bigger than my back yard can't be a real state anyway.  So not worried about that one  ::) .

US 93 North along the Salmon River from Arco, ID to Lolo, ID is a nice ride :2vrolijk_21:

Coeur d'Alene a beautiful historic town...

Lolo Pass is absolutely a ride to put on the bucket list.

Agreed!  Have driven the road west to Lolo then farther with the top down on a 67 Camaro.  Been all around Idaho on a bike.  Just somehow never managed to be on a bike in Idaho.  I suck!

Don, you know that the after ride is for getting things off of our bucket list. And if we will be heading to Nebraska, it is only 1038 miles further to Idaho Falls. what's an extra 2076 miles? That is something to think about.  ???

You don't want to do Lolo area right now or for a few weeks.
There are a few fires going on and riding in the smoke is not fun.
When you do ride Idaho, let me know. It would be nice to meet up somewhere, along hiway 12 maybe Lochsa Lodge, we have stayed there a few times.
From Boise north is a great ride, heck anywhere in Idaho has been good.

I'll ride with you, I would love to do Hiway 12 from Missoula MT to Lewiston ID again, both ways this time.

Well if you come to the Cody/ Yellowstone GTG, you can pop over into Idaho, and color that state. It's just weeks away.

I would love to Mark.  That is some of my favorite part of the country to to ride in.  Since becoming a school teacher a couple years ago though the schedules are less my own.  School starts here the week of 14 August.

Growing up in Omaha,  one of my neighbor/schoolmate girls..........married a Marine.  He and I and others all rode Triumphs and were in enduros way back in the late 60's.  He and his wife moved to Pocattella,  Idaho shortly after,  and I've never seen them since.

It would be a "hoot" if you were maybe in the area of Pocatella and could contact him and say hi from me. :apple:

His name would be Dave Kinsey and his wife is named Faith.

Mikey and I now have this idea percolating.  After Eureka Springs next year he has already requested that the after ride, the Post Partum Procession, go to see a train in Nebraska.  I'm sure in reality it's more dramatic than that but this is what I remember; a train in Nebraska.  After the train part of the Post Partum Procession it may now very well proceed on with the.... uh, what do we call it... I got it; The Spud Run.  So we might go from Arkansas to a train to a potato.  If Dave and Faith are in range I'm sure we'd be glad to just show up and say "hey."   :drink:
