Good use for random pictures
« on: August 05, 2017, 10:00:25 PM »

A bunch of years ago I got in the habit of every 6 months or so just walking around a bike or classic car or aircraft or whatever were the toys of the day and just quickly taking a bunch of pictures from a bunch of angles.  Did it for two reasons.  Until the next bunch of pics were taken they were the inventory of adds/mods for insurance should the unfortunate happen and some significant level of detail and documentation be needed.  I'd also do a quick look at the pics just because sometimes you see things in the pics that you don't see when you're just looking at.

Whether it's the different angles, the more narrowed view or the slightly exploded view sometimes you just see things you'd miss otherwise.  It's just a habit I practice that can't hurt and might just help.  Tonight when I got back did the quick walk around taking a bunch of random pics from random angles.  I don't know when I lost the bolt that clamps the exhaust to the bracket hanging off the side of the transmission.

Always wondered what their technical use was for.  Now I know.

They didn't back when there was a dead cat, either.   :6:

For the Rushmore update may need a new critter, like a trash panda or a Sasquatch?   :sauer052:

Don,

You may also want to double check the exhaust nuts, flanges and studs at least on the front head.  I lost that bolt on the roadking and it wreaked havoc on the front head exhaust studs.  Didn't end up needing an EDM removal, but snapped off the stud all the same.
