Stage 4 117 with SE8-447 Cam
« on: September 09, 2017, 12:21:58 PM »

Has anybody done a Stage 4 117 with the SE8-447 Torque cam?  I want a high torque build but I can find much using Harley internals.  Looking to also use the Harley full High Flow Exhaust and Auto Tune.  I'm in California and don't want to throw out the warranty.  I talked to my local dealer yesterday and he called the factory to see if they would cover this build.  He said they would cover it but its not recommend because of the potential detonation problems caused by the overlap in the 447 cam.  They recommended going with the SE8-498 cam and they do have a map for it.  I am looking to drop the bike off next week. Thanks for any input.

That is basically the build I did on my 2017 cov SG. Essentially with 2 inch fullsac baffles, HD heavy breather, and TTS tune it dynoed at 126/128 and is a nice ride. No hassle, no fuss, just rides well. Hope that helps.

Did you do the Harley full exhaust with the Full Sac baffles?

The SE Highflow system is a nice deal. most, if not many will give it a 👎🏼 Cause of the cats in the mufflers, 2" inlet on that system too
Good sound, good performance, good looks on the bike as well

I have a stage 3 RGS (non cvo) which is a 114" with the 447 cam.  It was putting out 114 tq and 97 hp with SE breather, TTS, stock head pipe and aftermarket slip-on's.  I personally did not care for the performance of that cam below 3,000 rpm's.  Less responsive than the stock cam at the same rpm's and it dropped off hard at 4,000-4,500 rpm's.   I was told that the 447 cam was designed for stock compression at 10:1, where stage 3's and up run 10.5:1.
