Boom audio
« on: December 09, 2017, 04:27:14 PM »

Just wondering why the cvo limited only comes with boom stage 1 looking at getting a new bike this year and am going to have to either put better speakers in a limited or put a tp and lowers on a rg. I thought cvos were all supposed to have all the options.

To be honest the CVO Limited sound system is outstanding at any speed. I definitely wouldn’t want to give up storage spacd in saddlebags for more speakers.

Its stage 1, ok but nothing to brag about. Depends how serious you are about your tunes. There are aftermarket options that make even the stage 2 (on the cvo streetglide) sound like crap. Just takes cash lol! The cvo stock system runs off a 300 watt amp (4x75), not sure what the non cvo ultras have. The 2 front fairing and tourpak speakers are plenty if you have the right system. I can hear my tunes just fine at 80+ mph but I have a 4x175 watt focal amp driving high quality speakers.

I don’t know what”stage” the CVO Limited sound system is but its far more powerful than a stock or even a Non-CVO Limited. 75 watts per channel in the CVO Limited. 25watts per channel on all other Boom systems from the factory.

That’s good to know that’s what I would expect I was confused because they call it stage 1 boom I don’t know what they call the regular limited.

The Boom Stage I, in my opinion, sounds pretty damn good and on the demo rack at the dealership, I prefer the sound over the stage II, which has a thicker sound. At high speeds on the highway, though, I'm thinking the Stage IIs might have an edge. I'ver resisted the urge to upgrade for almost three years now and the Stage I's sound great still. Take a listen at the dealer and see what you think....it's over $1,500 to have the Stage II's installed, and you'll lose some space in your tourpack for the second amp.

If you really want the Stage II then watch Ebay...I see the entire setup for sale every so often.

CVO Limited stock sound system is much better than the other 2 CVO Ultras I have owned.  Can listen to tunes with the radio at half volume or a little more at 75-80 mph.  Enough for me, can always upgrade the system for more sound but the $$ and loss of space are not worth it for what I need.

The CVO limited sounds system is much better than the standard Ultra (25 watts vs 75 watts at least for 2014).  I have had both and the difference is very noticeable. As mentioned above you can keep the volume way down compared to the Ultra and if you want you can have pretty loud music.  Way more than we would ever want. Honesty many (most) of the time we are just listening to the road.
