Just ordered parts for a custom cvo 117 build
« on: February 01, 2018, 06:48:45 PM »

So, I have been stroking on this for 2 years and finally pulled the trigger 8) I am ordering the SE drop on 117 kit from Suburban speed selling them back the pistons from the kit and adding Mahle 10.7 to 1 domed pistons, also swapping the se 259e for a Tman 590 cam and having them do my stock CVO heads with their port job, valves and springs. We are thinking 125 to 130 HP and hopefully over 130TQ with a strong bottom end and pull to 6K RPMs. Thoughts?

Yep, a good start :2vrolijk_21:

You might consider the SE 58mm Throttle Body and 5.3 injectors,,,may as well have Suburban polish / port match... S&S Premium Lifters...

Maybe an AIM VP for the Clutch...

What Exhaust?? Tuner??

I am getting the 58 MM throttle body, 5.3 injrctoors and port and polish.  Rick at Suburaban said my clutch will be fine with this combo because I have a 2016 with the slip assist clutch. I already have a SE race tuner and my exhaust is Vance and Hines power duals with OS 450 rounds. I know the OS 450 are not ideal, but I really like the sound and already have them.

The kit comes with the 58mm T-body and 5.3 injectors. Either cam will be a bit small in the 117. Also for torque you can't beat the SE MVA heads. I just took off ported and 2.120 intake valve CVO 110 heads and installed slightly tweeked MVA's and picked up over10 HP on top and about 20 ft.lbs torque at 3000/4000 rpm! In a bagger I wouldn't go any other way. Especially with that small of a cam. If I didn't have a dyno and see the sheets, I wouldn't have believed it. That combo will be bagger heaven!
I have a Pro Street Breakout, so I have tried a few larger cams. Currently, a Redshift 627 (260/268 .625/.600), retarded 4 degrees (it is ground with a lot of advance), power peak is at 5750 and 135.8 and 133Tq. Even with that cam (and retarded)I can pull 6th down to 1500 rpm just driving it, and wide open at about 1800 in 6th. TIMINATOR

I bought their 117 cylinder/piston combo and already came with Mahle 10.7 to 1 pistons? I had the heads done to get up to around 11 to 1.

Best of luck on the build, really enjoying my 117"! Keep us posted on the results.

I bought the complete SE 117 drop on kit and sold back the Pistons because they had a buyer for them. Then added the 10.7 comp Mahle pistons and a tman 590 Cam and their head work on my cvo heads. I still am getting the SE 259e to sell if I want.
