Catalytic converter
« on: August 21, 2007, 06:09:04 PM »

I was told by a salesman at Black Hills HD that the '08 bikes have catalytic converters.  Anybody know anything about this?   :confused5: -Retail& Steve

California and Export touring models have cats for '08.  I was under the impression that the 110's also had them, same as '07, but couldn't find anything specifically stating that.

Even the 110" SE engine kit requires you to buy the Catalyst Mufflers. They have to supply those mufflers on the 110" for it to be street legal. The muffler description in the brochure is the same as last year, Chrome Touring Mufflers with 4" Billet End Caps. Safe to assume they're Catalyst Mufflers. ;)

I know the '06 49 state bikes didn't have cats- at least mine didn't.  We checked them out at the Harley shop in Rapid City before I bought Rush mufflers.  (Which I really liked)  -Steve

I have a 2007 springer {built June 2007} and it has 'cats'  , I know because I pulled the baffles out and cut the 'cat screen ' off to see how it sounded, Didn't like it , replaced the baffles with cycle shacks. Sounds good now !

The 07 110 does have a cat in both mufflers.  Pull them off and look into the inlet side and you will see them.  Mine now had V&H Ovals, much better.
