Rinehart Performance Baffle??
« on: November 14, 2007, 11:42:22 PM »

I think my new Rinehart TDs are a little subdued. I sent this email off to bub.com...

A couple of weeks ago, I had installed some Rinehart TDs onto my 08 Screamin Eagle Road King (FLHRSE4). This was done by the dealer and properly tuned to achieve 98 hp and 115 lb ft. I want a slightly louder baffle and was wondering whether your Hi Flo baffles will:

1. Make the exhaust louder?
2. Require a new dyno tune?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

and got this response...

Paul,

The baffle you have now is the loudest baffle for the system. The performance baffle is actually slightly quieter than the baffle you have now.

Robert

I'm guessing this is accurate, but it doesn't seem to ring true. Has anyone tried the Rinehart performance baffle?

I HAD THE STANDARD BAFFLES AND CHANGED TOO THE PERFORMACE BAFFLES A FEW MONTHS AGO.
THE PERFORMANCE BAFFLES ARE LOADER WHEN YOU KICK IT.. AT IDLE JUST A LITTLE MORE LOW END SOUND. WHEN I CALLED AND ASK ABOUT THE BAFFLES THEY SAID THE BIKE COULD RUN LEANER..BUT AFTER INSTALLING THE BAFFLES THE BIKE RUNS FINE..

I have the performance baffles on my 08 SERK and I find it quite loud as well as the people behind me.

Michael

Sounds like a good purchase. I have just had my bike dyno tuned, and I notice that you installed the PBs after you tried cutting the standard baffles and lost some performance. In your opinion:
1. Will the bike run ok with extra airflow (i.e. could it lean out too much)?
2. How much louder at idle and constant cruise are the PBs?

Many thanks
