Buy guns and vote for the OLD White Guy. :2vrolijk_21: Here in Ca yesterday the OWG said he would build the fence, deport all the illegals in jail immediately, and stop employers from hiring illegals. With all that you won't need amnesty. Doc

That all sounds good, but is he saying this to get elected??  Has he changed his mind on this issue????  I am so sick of all the candidates flip-flopping on issues.
Sure would be great to have another Ronald Reagan :2vrolijk_21:

Not a concern Joe.  Constitutionally barred from being President again due to term limitations imposed by the 22nd amendment.  This bars from being VP due to the 12th amendment's exclusion of anyone to the VP's job who is otherwise excluded from the President's job.  There's been way too much idiot-beyond-the-right-of-Rush kind of press that has been trying to split hairs on this.  But if he can't be Prez again he also can't be VP.

Maybe, and I don't get this form El Rushbo whacko crowd, consider this:

Article II of the Constitution, says a person is "eligible to the Office of President" as long as he or she is a natural-born U.S. citizen, at least 35 years old and a resident of the United States for 14 years. The 12th Amendment says "no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President."

Then Congress and the states added the 22nd Amendment in 1951 to prevent anyone from following the example of Franklin D. Roosevelt, who won four terms. That's where things get dicey. "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice," the 22nd Amendment says.

On its face, that seems to suggest that Clinton could be vice president because he is only barred from being elected president a third time, not from serving as President. One could also argue that since the Vice President is "elected" and should he take office he would be in effect elected President. Electing a Vice President means electing a Vice President and contingently electing him as President. That interpretation, though a little bold, would honor the intention behind the 22nd Amendment.

Before leaving office, and again in 2003, he suggested amending the amendment to let a two-term president leave office and then run again: "Since people are living much longer . . . the 22nd Amendment should probably be modified to say two consecutive terms instead of two terms for a lifetime." Now, who might he have had in mind?

But seriously doubt Billiary would want to give that office to another egomaniac, like herself. Let's all hope this never comes to pass in our lifetimes.

like herself.

So if Hillary picks Bill as her running mate and then wins the election, she can step down and Wham, Bill is back! Then Bill chooses Hillary as his VP. TaDa!

In 2000 I voted for Senator McCain in the primaries because he was ridin the bus " Straight Talk "  and speaking to what he believed regardless of whether it was the talking point of the day from the RNC. Since then he's pandered to whatever group would support him. He's to the point where he has a guy who stands beside him reminding him what to say to the crowd depending on where he is. That's not " Straight Talk "  that's the same old bullchit as everyone else. I'm not mentioning any names, but a certain cajun site member buddy of mine totally dissed McCain in 2000 and now talks him up big time. I'm disappointed. What happened to the McCain of 2000. Oh yeah, that McCain supported a woman's right to choose and a bunch of other liberal ideas. So is he re-born in his new conservative birthday suit ? I think not. Ann Coulter who in my opinion is to the Republican party what a fluffer is to the set of porn movie, has said that she will campaign for Hillary if McCain gets the nomination. The left doesn't trust him, the right doesn't trust him and the middle doesn't believe him. This election sucks and it hasn't even started.

Terry and I bought season three and just about quit watching regular TV lately. This is some funny stuff. I'm sure the writers are feasting on the material comming out of this election.  :D Doc

We see to much of the same as it is........I would never support the change to the 22nd if it allowed the same people
to get back in power........We need term limits on the Senate and the House as it is now!

That's what made George Washington So Special he had the power of the Presidency and the Humbleness to Step Down, While others in his time would have made themselves King.

Just read on Yahoo that Romney announced today that he is dropping out:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080207/pl_nm/usa_politics_romney_dc_9

This should sew it up for McCain.  Will be interesting to watch the remaining primaries to see if Romney supporters will move to McCain or Huckabee
