I wanted to let you know that we picked up our new Ruby Red SEUC yesterday. These are beautiful motorcycles and thanks go out to the positive posters that helped convince me to buy it ! If you haven’t had a chance to see one yet, let me assure you that pictures on the internet don't do these things justice. Even on a cloudy day, the paint, wheels, chrome - hell, everything looks fantastic !

The dealer we bought the bike from is Horsepower HD in Williamsport, Pa. They’re a great bunch of people… Until yesterday, we've never walked through their doors but they treated us like we’ve been going there for years. I sent them an e-mail on Tuesday afternoon with a picture of my Fatboy, the quote from our preferred dealer and a list of the added accessories. Within an hour, they responded with an offer of $2000 less than the starting price of the other bike. With a verbal request (no deposit), they held the bike for me until after the holidays and went out of their way to help us through the entire transaction. I'll bet we spent close to an hour with their head mechanic while he explained all the features to us. We walked out the door with a final price of $35,882 with taxes, transfer, two shirts and 15% off all parts and labor for 6 months included. Freight and prep weren’t even listed on their quote. If you’re ever in the area, it’s worth dropping by because they have a lot of new and used Harleys and Buell's on the floor. Just ask for Kim...

We live in the northeast and our weather didn't cooperate much this weekend. We had on and off rain all day saturday so the roads didn't even dry off until last evening. There's still a lot of salt and anti-skid (shale) on the roads too and the last thing I want to do is ride through salt water or get shale thrown at me by a truck. It's 40 degrees and sunny out there now so maybe tonite's the night ?

It was 41 degrees when I got home from work tonite. I threw the leathers on and put the first 50 break-in miles on her and let me tell you, this bike wants to run ! I'm anxious to see what it can do when it's broken in. After my ride today, I have no regrets at all for paying the extra money.

Sweet looking ride.  Congrats.     In reference to your question about taking off the seat to mount the backrest;  no you shouldn't have to do that.  In fact if you do, you can't put the seat back on.  The only way you wouldn't be able to put the back rest on, is that they forgot to install the mounting bracket on the rear fender under the seat.  Otherwise, you should be able to install remove the backrest easily by sliding your hand down between the rider and passenger portion of the seat and pinch the two backrest legs together to slide into/pull out of the bracket.  Open that area up and look in there with a flashlight and see if you have a kind of golden annodized metal bracket installed on your fender.  They may just have forgotten to put that on.

Chit we both getting old. I meant I believe there will be a SEEG/SESG in 2011. The '09's are already out, and I think next year for a touring CVO we will see the SEUC⁵, and SERG⁴. This is only my opinion/guess as I haven't spoke to Willie G's poolboy (yet).
