Your Favorite Independent Shop
« on: February 26, 2009, 08:21:09 PM »

I don't know if this topic has been done before, but I guess it's about time if it hasn't. Its nice to see a small business thrive in these hard times and its all because they care about customer service. Menace in Lake Elsinore, Ca has been doing all my work for the past couple of years and I'd rate them A++++.  In the last 6 months they have expanded their service bay and are now adding a road house bar and grill. So if your in the area go check them out.

Another vote for Metal Dragon! We were hesitant to go to an independent at first, but following the recommendations given by members here, and after meeting Jim, it was a no brainer.

If your in Northwest Ohio "Blackswamp Choppers" is a nice place to stop for a cocktail or lunch, They have a showroom and sales area, upstairs is the tatooing area,"skeeters Bar & Grill" downstairs with open view windows to the shop so you can view while you chow down,I'll drum up some pictures soon.

I guess we'd be the eight vote for Jim's (Metal Dragon).  For many of us here, a few years back, it was "Jim's" (his garage at his home) before it was Metal Dragon.  It's been great watching him grow and for him to be able to do what he really enjoys. :2vrolijk_21:

Yes it is!  It's been a heck of a transition for everyone.  Instead of Jim working in a 1 car garage in his backyard, he now has a great shop!  I'm just gald to be a part of it!

I still miss the sunken lift in Jims garage, not to mention the old prices.

Metal Dragon gets my vote also. It was always fun to go to Jims garage and let him do his magic, but the shop allows him to take care of even more of us. Just noticed this thread today so I guess everyone knows about his 3 yr annversiry party on the saturday following Hood River Ride. I know a bunch of us Norcal and Socal riders will be there on way home from Oregon......I know I will be there, good food and good people. Doesn't get any better than that..... :2vrolijk_21:..... Jon

If you're in the Huntington Beach, Ca area you should check out Huntington Beach Hogs & Choppers. 2 man shop, know their chit and really understand the importance of customer satisfaction.  Straight shooters, don't oversell.  They have serviced my last 2 CVO's.

Pure Hell Customs in Manassas Park, VA 703-335-1447. Axil will likely second this the best indy shop in Northern, VA.
