I have heard of this so called 36" rule from my dealer, but when it comes down too it if I ain't happy with it they are good and replace it.

Is the rule an "actual rule" I have no clue.

I do know that replacing only one peice of chrome under warranty is complete BS.

Stand your ground and don't give in. My thought is, If you give in once........your done!  :nixweiss:

I notice that the heat shield under my right leg is pitting and rusting. Anyone having similar probams on with any chrome?
My stealer says that the MOCO will replace only one piece of chrome per bike and I should wait in-case there is a problam with a very expensive one starts pitting. Does policy this sound correct to all or is the stealer misinformed?

Now that is the tactful way of saying it.  Those of us who don't have much in the way of "tact" would say it a little differently, as in "your dealership is FOS and is lying to you".

Read the actual statement of the warranty, and no where will you find any such BS.  If the part is defective (as opposed to damaged), it is covered no matter how many other parts on the same bike are defective.  Harley and many of it's fine dealerships have taken the art of avoiding responsibility to alltime levels of absurdity, but at the end of the day the warranty is a legal document that they can't verbally change on a whim.  Only when enough people refuse to let these people get away with this crap will things change for the better.

The advice from the other's about contacting the MoCo directly is right on the money.  And if somehow you get a brain dead individual on the phone who tells you the same thing, demand to speak to the boss.  And if you later get more than one piece of chrome with a defect and they refuse to take care of it, see a lawyer versed in warranty law.

That's just plain ole BullChit I'd insist they fix it. If it recurs they can fix it again! that is how a warranty works.
