Blasphemy They Kuryakyn's are better than the Ultra version but IMHO they detract from the clean lines of the Street Glide. The HID headlamp provide significant lighting over stock SG.
To me it add's that "GrandDad look"

It's the passing lamps  They are great on a Heritage or an Ultras been that way since before my Dads 47 Harley. However on the Street Glide's clean lines and mean demeanor. To me (and possibly only me) They look like reading Glasses the cool old guy in the restaurant pulls out to read the menu?

Probably jus me! I"m guessin (but it sure did wake up the thread)

The HID I was referring to is the High Intensity Discharge (HID) Dual Bulb Headlamp Kit and the increased output over stock

It's more personal taste than anything.  My 47 harley didn't have passing lamps (didn't even have a front fender).  Remember your clean/mean SESG has a 'fairing' on it.  We were all young once.  har!  spyder

They are supposed to arrive by Wedesday and I will have them on by Thursday and take pictures.  Old school and disco aside, I like a clean look on the front. IMHO

Mike, I also ordered the Tunetrapper hidden antena.

Here's mine...

I was reading somewhere awhile back that Willie G had a code name for the StreetGlide before the Moco released it. Something about a stripped bike, because it was stripped of lights, blah, blah, blah. Am I slippin' or does anyone else remember this?

and on that cool HID headlight... I contemplated that too before I installed my spots. But at $500, and not personally knowing anyone that had it... I opted for the ol' trustworthy spots.

Wheelsnkeels, have you compared the HID side-by-side with the standard headlight? I'd love to install it, but need more input.

Now it's lookin like a motorcycle! :2vrolijk_21:

I've already surrendered to riding an old man's motorcycle.....because I'm old.  Figured that's the reason everybody else is riding an old man's motorcycle. :huepfenlol2:  Hell, we need the extra lighting at night for the same reason we need the reading glasses. :nervous:

I have.  I'd say 75% of the Nor Cal members now have HID.  It happens pretty quick once you ride next to a couple of those HID lights.  Incredable difference.  A much cleaner, brighter, whiter light but not to the point that it's a nuscience to on coming vehicles.  Kind of like the difference between my BMW and my Silverado pick up.  Now I want to get the truck converted. :nixweiss:

Here's mine...

Wheelsnkeels, have you compared the HID side-by-side with the standard headlight? I'd love to install it, but need more input.

Major improvement brighter on low beam than my Softail with the spots turned on!

Much brighter than the Softail on High beam as well. $500.00 is a lot for a headlamp and if it wasnt on the bike when I bought it. I probably wouldnt have tried it but now that I have one I would buy another.

Here are 2 cost effective  HID conversion websites

After getting the HID on my 04 SEEG, I had it put on Terrie's 09 Street Glide immediatly (I think that was the first mod).  And then immediatly on my 10 SESG.  So, yes, now that I've rode with them.......I'll always have them. :2vrolijk_21:
