cometic head gasket question
« on: July 21, 2010, 02:01:33 PM »

Was curious about the little rivot holding the 3 peice spring gasket together.  Do you guess just leave it or cut that part off?  I am guessing there is no real up or down side to the gasket either is there?

Used to cut one side when they intruded into the pushrods, no issues. But today why mess with it?

ok thanks was just curious.  Hadn't used them before.  didn't feel like screwing stuff up.  Tired of taking this motor apart over and over.  I got the 10.5 pistons and cylinders last night installed them today and did the clay test while i was at it.  Thought i might have to worry.  Man you have all kinds of room still before anything even gets close to touching.  I was surprised.  So hopefully this afternoon i will be back on the road again.
