tire price
« on: February 05, 2011, 09:22:59 AM »

Just took 09 S/E Road Glide to shop for maint, was quoted $275.00 for new rear tire, does this seem fair.  Original tire only has 3000 miles on it and is bald, (117 hp) cant imagine why lol.  Hopefully had my fun with that tire and wil try to make next one last longer, wife dont even think its funny but hey sometimes I forget my age, 24/ 40 close enough.

Sounds about right from a dealer.

scatla, my latest J&P catalogue is quoting a price of $236.99 for a D407 Rear 180-65B-16. However, the American Elite (not the Elite 3) is quoted as $186.99 for 180/65B16. I don't know how much the shipping and handling is but it is worth a phone call. Good Luck CAHDBIKER (these prices are on page 104 of their latest catalogue)

Diamondback had the answer to this last summer when I had an extra I didn't need.  I sold it for $165.  It retailed at the time for $232.

You can buy the same tire on Ebay foe 125 to 150 shipped.

ANd if you don't want the HD on Dunlop now sells a replacement that you can but for around 135 plus shipping.

I just bought one for $100 and 35 to ship.

Brand new never ridden.

I got just the rear, and so far no problems or handeling problems. Feels like the stock tires. Got allmost 28,000 miles on front D408.. Should get 30,000 no problem..

Limited Lou, What air pressure do you run in your tires with and without a passenger? Thanks CAHDBIKER

It's a good idea.  I check my pressure a couple times a week in the winter, about once a week in the summer

Check out Zanottis-

Rear D407-    180/55B-18- $184.74

Front D408F- 130/70B-18- $133.33

TOTAL =   $318.07

I haven't shopped around hard yet, but I would think that would be tough to beat.
