Extended Saddlebag Fitted Liners
« on: February 19, 2011, 08:19:55 AM »

I searched previous posts for extended saddlebag liners and only found the cut and glue kits.

Has anyone found a nice fitted liner for the extended bags that slides in and is secured with Velcro like the
Harley #92189-06  for the standard bags?

It's only a matter of time before somebody starts making them.

I actually called customer service about this problem before I even got my bike because I was looking to get the mods all here before the bike. I explained to them that they had the 2009 SERG as well as two years (2010-2011) of the FLHXSE's and could not understand that they didn't make a fitted liner for these 30+ thousand dollar bikes. They had no answer except that they didn't. Anyway I just am now using the regular ones and use the blank space beneath them to put my tie down straps and bungees etc, as well as any other items I carry that I seldom use but might need. Sure is a bummer. They also don't make a chopped tour pak liner that has the pocket for the antennae if you use the antennae relocation kit and put your antennae on the back of the tour pak like an ultra. At least not one of the new nice black felt ones. The one I had in my older bike is of different material and not near as nice but it does have the notch in the back left corner for the antennae cable and all.

There is an upholestry shop here in Phoenix that makes some very nice bag liners.  Not removable however.  My firend with the Limited has them, I will take some pictures next weekend when I see him & find out who does it.

I know, I know, I will get pictures

Actually, the '09 SERGs just had stick-on extenders on standard bags.

Yeap, falsies.  Look at a pic and you can see the ugly seam around the bottom of the bag where the two pieces mate.

Bill,
Those liners rock! Do you know what they cost? I am interested but live in CT so if the shop needs the bags to install that's a problem. Thanks for the post and great pics. Really helpful and a great idea to personalize your ride.

I would be in for a set of removeable liners. I don't think I'd want to send them my bags to have a custom (non-removeable) set fitted. That shop does GREAT work - but I'd like to remove the liners as needed for future mods, or even to return to stock for selling/trading.

Just sayin' - these things ain't gonna be cheap - and I personally like the removeables in case I want to hide wires (an example) for future mods.

Again - they look GREAT - but removeable has it's own attractiveness. Now if this company could make the same stellar liners in removeable form ... I'm all over a set.

I'm in too for a set of black and removable.

Food for thought......I was at the dealership last week and there was a 2011 road glide on the floor. I opened up the side bag and they have a really nice black liner in them. I asked parts for a price......one side is $95.00 CAD. and the other side is $165.00. CAD. :nixweiss:. I am waiting for a response why such a difference in price from one side to the other. Anyway i would much rather have a set that fill the bottom but i would not say no to them ether since they are really nice.....like soft fur :P......get yer minds out of the gutter....lol.

So I was told that one is an OEM PART and the other is an Accessory. This is why the difference in price. Makes no sense to me for such a deference in price for someting that is basically the same and since they do not fill the SG bottom i do not think they are worth buying.........so hopfully this works out. Hey maybe we can pay extra for that fury feeling with these extended liners. :P

Don't give up, I am having trouble getting to talk to the guy that is distributing them.  They have picked a single distributor for selling unless you come in to their shop.  Everyone was getting ready for AZ Bike week plus I was out of town on business for several days.

There are a number of NorCal CVO folks here in AZ with me now, we are in Williams, AZ ans headed for the Grand Canyon today (as soon as the sun come us & the tems get up a little 27 last nite)

Anyway, my plan is to catch him at AZ Bike Week & see what kind of deal I can get us.

Thanks for the update Bill. Personaliy, I'm not so concerned with the discount aspect as I am with the availability, especially out here on the east coast. I'll be more than happy to be in a group buy though so keep up the good work tracking down the info.

I was at the International Motorcycle show here in Toronto yesterday. I asked around to see if someone here would make these liners. Only one person was willing to try but he did not sound too confident.

So Skalywag thanks for doing the leg work on this.

Sorry Guys, I have been travelling on business on & off forr the lat month.

Here is what I have come up with.

The liners are now a Yaffee product, the shop will not sell them directly, Yaffee has them on their website

http://www.baggernation.com/products-body-plateholders.htm

Scroll down towards the bottom of the page.

The design has changes as far as the material.  Brady said they might do the other material, like the pic's I posted, wasn't sure.

You can call the Yaffee contact number and ask for Brady.  I have not been able to get any price committment from him.  He says they typicall don't do discount.

Hope this will help some of you that need them, personally i'm not crazy about the "tuck & rolll" look pictured on the web site.

Good luck!  Post pic's if any of you buy the new design.

I know, I know, a week late.

Here are a few shots of the liners.

Late?  Man, this is the first time I saw these pics (I think  :nixweiss:).  What does something like that cost Bill?  Might look nice on my big blue and doesn't seem to be to thick that it takes up space.

Hey JC

They are nice, but they aren't making them, the are making the ones Yaffee sells now.  I think they were like $275 when Rick go them.  They are no bigger space wise than the HD removable liners & probably smaller because they go in several pieces, custom fit it.

You mean I actually kept a secret from you, sorry :nixweiss:

I like the regular saddlebag liners, I put all the tools and rags in the bottom then the regular saddlebag liner, less stuff you have to dig out when you need something on the bottom. Just my 2 cents.
