Not that bright...really?  Not doubting you, I just had a different experience.  Saw these on a showroom bike a couple days ago and they were bright enough to where you couldn't tell if the OEM brake light was in brake or running mode.  It was impressive enough to pull the trigger on a set the next day.

Edit:  Sorry about that...after re-reading this I see you were talking about Kuryakyns.  I saw and picked up the ones from Custom Dynamics.

Kuryakyn filler lights on my 14 limited
They weren't very bright but they worked.

My local dealer carries filler lights and those are really bright, I'm not sure what brand they are but those are the ones I should've bought. I know they're not the Kuryakyns.
Don't matter now, got rid of it because of the front end wobble that bike had (tired of taking it back to the dealer and seeing/hearing how well the lemon law works just easier to get rid of it) and the dealer made me a killer deal on a new 2015 cvo limited. Much happier with the way it rides.
No need for the filler lights.

Buy I did make this handy little sticker for the top of the brake/running light to hide the tag light.

Yes, disassembled the taillight red outer cover from the inner stuff, just screws holding it together, used the thin double stick tape and a piece of tin foil to cover the LED ( chrome side up), and reassembled it. Easy peezy

So I'm putting my list together for this project. My last part of it was to decide on what to do with the license plate and light. I happened upon this light on eBay.($14.95) I looked at the existing light  and it looks like this will just screw in place and connect to the inside of the taillight housing. it has a three plug female connector on the end that will plug into the male end behind the taillight.  All I should need now is a street glide (non-cvo)  license plate bracket.
After it arrives all go down to the dealer and pick up my four point docking station and removable bracket for the tour pack.

Got this bracket off of eBay. It's made of steel and allows plenty of clearance away from the fender that there's no possibility of running. As soon as I get my nerve up I'll take the medallion off and re-locate it just underneath the license plate.
