Lord, be with Mike during this recovery and place Your healing grace upon him. Lead the doctors and nurses in the right direction in his path to a speedy recovery. Bless him, Lord, and give comfort to miss Suzy. It is all in your hands, Lord.

Yo Unc... glad to hear you are @ home... not taking a "crap" after surgery is normal (unfortunately :bigcry:)... if you have been taking a lot of pain meds (opiates) they will cause/induce constipation.... when I had my hip replaced and was on some serious opiates (pain meds) it took me a while before I had a "breakthrough".... I ended up stop taking the "pain" meds so I could have a "breakthrough" and then once I did (felt like I'd... ummm... passed a "brick") I took some "meds" for that "occurrence" then flushed the rest of them.

As bad as I have to crap I'm glad I didn't have to go. Last night when hurricane came thru the area  we lost power so the well pump wouldn't work. So when the generator came on line it still wasn't working. S0 I called my buddy Steve and told him that I think I had a line drop out. So he came over this morning amd confirmed my thoughts. Replaced the cable and are back in business another bullet dodged. ;D

Glad you're home, Unc!  When the main topic of conversation at hand is about "pinchin' a loaf", one should take into consideration the many rewards of this ancient past-time.  Such as, the pure pride and joy that comes immediately after this august event, by standing up and closely peering at the monumental finished product, of this cathartic process.  Lastly, breathing in that thick, lingering, unique aroma, one final time before flushing.  One can only wish that the "politically correct" crowd was there to savor, and enjoy.   Ain't nuthin' like a good chit.....when you're 'bout to!  There endeth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD

Had my exam 2 weeks ago. No knockout drugs. Full HD TV in the OR. They got 8 of the little young bastards .. polyps. Good riddens.

There is also an over the counter that works called Miralax. Target/Walmart has it and a generic version about $2 cheaper. You mix it with a 64oz Gatorade. Should do the trick. Make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids before taking this stuff.

This ain't my first "rodeo"... being getting them every 5 years since around 40 years of age... no "rookie" here when it comes to this procedure... but it beats the hell out of not getting them to find out later that a disaster could have been avoided. Glad your procedure turned out well and you got rid of the polyp's. :2vrolijk_21:

I just got back from my post surgery doctors appointment. Besides all the medical jargon, Hurrahs and Hoopla's  and a new list of medications I did get a pass to attend Maggie Valley next week!
I also get to see the cardiologist when I get back. I now have more doctors than days in the week.
Getting old sucks! But it beats the alternative.
They said I need to lay off the liquor while on these new meds, I did negotiate being able to have two drinks each day. They don't know the size of my drink cup! ;D

Yea, what he said... And be careful mixing :vrolijk_15: with medications... sometimes (depending on the meds) they will put you on your @$$ (found out the hard way). Enjoy yourself, but first and foremost take care of yourself.

BTW Unc... I know what you mean about a team of docs... I've got enough for a basketball team now w/one on the bench.

Glad to hear that you're on the mend :2vrolijk_21:  As others have said, don't try too much too soon, or the healing process will take longer than necessary.  Best of luck to you!

Had my one month check up and CT scan.  Everything looked good as far as the repair. They did notice that the right kidney isn't getting it's full share of blood. Long story short, I go back in next Thursday for repair, minor so they say, but plan to stay over night. I just want to get this crap over with and get back to normal. I did tell them the sooner the  better on getting this done.  ::)

I'm thankful the news is all good so far, and that this kidney tune-up seems to be no big deal to the doc.  Will be praying it will go flawlessly.
Looking forward to seeing you again next June, Mikey!

I'm home, today's procedure was unsuccessful so trying plan B next Monday morning the 3rd. Being only the second person in all the repairs he has done, to need follow up surgery, I can see why he went with the less invasive choice. Next week full blown repair and all will be well.

I may be pondering a lot more than I want to. The hospital called and gave me the lowdown of do's and don't s. Scheduled fore Monday, which is okay. I have to check in at 5:30AM! Yes AM! First surgery of the day. I'm getting tired of this crap.

Thanks to all for the prayers and thoughts. Today's surgery is over and I am resting at home. They were unable to fix the kidney problem so it is something I have to live with and keep a check on.
Otherwise everything else is doing just fine. Just a little sore here and there but nothing major. Go back for a followup Dec. 2nd.

Mike, very glad to hear you're home and recouping well.

Sorry they were not able to make repairs.  On a plus note, my dad had issues with his kidneys in the connection between the two.  They tried to reconnect, but was not able to do so.  Boy, that didn't sound like a plus... :(  Here's the plus...  He lived to be 95 and it wasn't his kidneys that let him down.

So I expect we'll have many more years of your presence with the CVO group.  I'll go out on a limb here and speak for the others here, we're all looking forward to many more years of your chit disturbing antics.  Oh, and the "happy juice" too.

Take is easy and rest up big guy...  :2vrolijk_21:  :2vrolijk_21:  :2vrolijk_21:
