Salt Lake??? I drive there all the time, don't think it's that bad. I'd expect to see places like Chicago, Seattle, nothing in California?? I think the survey was put on by the La, Chicago and NY City chamber of Commerce.

I have to agree with their listing as #6. It's not too bad once the rush hour has passed but it's bumper car central otherwise. It should have changed for the better now that they have the new Legacy Hiway and lite rail but when I lived there in 2005-06, it was crazy. I had a company truck with a winch on it and if it hadn't been for Bob & Tom,   I'd a been fired for shoving it up someones arse. I f'n hate cities and all the traffic and try to plan my trips to go through between lunch and night rush hour or EARLY AM. Took me 3 hrs one time to go 20 miles due to a snow fall. I don't mind the people at all...if they ain't driving.

According to the CNBC report, the list is based on traffic fatality statistics compiled from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Four Florida cities made the list including Fort Lauderdale which was ranked first, Orlando was ranked second, Jacksonville was 11th and St. Petersburg came in at 12th.

So why does Florida rank so badly?

Some blame the high number of New York transplants, tourists driving in unfamiliar territory and senior citizens. not to mention spring breakers, who may have compromised vision or reflexes.

Not mentioned in this report is that 93.25% of the fatalities in Memphis came after being shot at!

Interesting, only San Bernadino in California. I would think there would be more. It seems like there are always bike accidents in the canyons and of course intersections, but I guess when you limit it to only fatalities that may be the difference.

My driveway ain't to safe either. My 17 y/o daughter backed into my truck yesterday. That's three accidents backing up in a year.

Don't assume that. She kind of did a number on my brother-in-laws custom Golf Cart last month.
