1536 as I type this and I'm finally feeling awake. Got up and sleepwalked around a bit this AM, but mostly still in some sort of intercontinental time-warp from the stress and strain of the past 9 weeks. As John Denver once sang, "hey it's great to be back home again "

To answer the posts below (or above depending on how you've formated your screen) I rode 7 different bikes while traveling around the USA between Dago and Maine. So I guess any references to Scot riding OPM's is forever buried. Many many thanks to the owners of those 7 wonderful machines. And of course to those who were my most gracious hosts for the day long layovers in which the riding got done. Mark in Memphis, Candy and Jamey in Colonial Heights, Q and Heather in Conn, and Don C in Joplin ; I am in your debt, all of you and look forward to the chance to repay.

The ride home was mostly four 800 mile blasts in the Mitsu rocket sled, with one layover at Twolane's house in Missouri. As had been the case on the ride east, events unfolded which could be interpreted as the hand of a higher power showing me his righteousness. During the 7 weeks I spent in Maine, I rose every morning at 0545 and headed to Portland Headlight with a supersize Dunkin Donuts coffee in hand. With strains of Tony Bennett playng softly on the Mitsu's Rockford Fosgate sound system, I watched the sun come up on the east coast each morning and the lubstahmen of Portland habah head out for the day. Given all I had to accomplish during my time there I needed this quiet time each morning to charge my batteries and gird my loins so to speak for the day's trials and travails. While visiting with the illustrious Twolanerider and also enjoying the companionship of Ghost Rider and Mr and Mrs Cuthbertson (alias the much previously maligned Scot C) my host took me to the Downstream casino which straddles Indiana, Missouri and Kansas for dinner. There was an outdoor concert going on after dinner and Don got me around back and in a prime position to watch the show which was a night under the stars with - - - - - - - - - - you guessed it Tony Bennett. If that's not karma, I don't know what is. Many thanks to Don for hosting me, loaning me his red/red/red 00 SERG and for the company of all. It was certainly a great respite from the long days of driving coast to coast alone.

So now I'm home and the process of separting from my company of nearly 28 years begins along with the visits to the doctors and forms to fill out to collect my disability retirement. To be 100% honest, this malady (spinal stenosis) is very real and I am not sure how much longer I will find myself able to ride on two wheels unless surgery proves to be greatly beneficial. As luck would have it Harley-Davidson has chosen this time to re-introduce a trike, this newest version being an Ultra-Classic based model as opposed to the spartan Servi-car of yore. Seems that one thing I have in spades is a great sense of timing. But as my dear sweet Mom sang to me when I was child, " Que sera, sera, whatever will be, will be. The future's not ours to see, que sera, sera.

Sad to say AJ, no MV for me this year. I have to go through the process of documenting my Spinal Stenosis for the insurance company that will be paying off on my disability policy. That means another round of MRI's, doctor's visits, whatever they require. That's why I came home now instead of a couple weeks later. That process begins on 9/18 and I need to be here in Dago.

Y'all have a good time and I'll catch up with you one of these days.

Brian,
Glad to hear you've returned safely. We can catch up on your travels and photos after the Mitusubishi pace car lag clears.  :2vrolijk_21:

It was great having you here a couple of days Brian.  Really enjoyed it.  Was great that it worked out for you and Scot to be here at the same time.  We didn't do a lot of riding but we did a lot of playing mixed with some riding.  It's all good.  Scot seemed to head out satisfied with what we accomplished and we all had a great time.  Can't ask for much more over a long weekend.

Glad you made it home recharged and ready for whatever comes next.  Just as glad got to see you on the way :2vrolijk_21: .

I guess we did kinda-sorta.  But never took a single picture.  Was having too good a time to stop and do it I guess.

Sunday especially; Scot had his red SEEG and the red Switchblade here.  Travis was over all day with his red SERK and of course we had the red bike and the red SERG.  Just never got a picture of all the glorious redness together.

From Brian's arrival to Scot's departure had the crowd around for three days.  Has actually been a good summer that way.  One of the Texas crowd visited a few weeks ago.  Another passed through from east right before that and just before that had meals and beverages and a late night with another buddy heading from west to east.  So it's been all good.

This weekend though having the five red riders all out to a run to the MO/OK/KS line to dinner and a little highway buzz back after dark was a lot of fun.  We also got a few nice chores done to Scot's bikes that he'd been looking forward to.  So it really was a great weekend.  But now I'm in withdrawal.  No more playing.....

Man you did miss a great photo op w/that many red different year/model CVO's there. :(

So Scot owes us pictures. :nixweiss: You just don't travel w/two bikes (especially Scot that is the master of ROPB's :D) unless you are getting something done to them. Come on Scot show us what you did. ;D

He was enjoying some well earned time off travelling around with a beautiful young girl and two bikes in tow.  Have to admit that most of the bike chores we got done didn't have much picture value to them.

He made a great change with some pipes on the Switchblade and changed out the black master cylinder and handlebar clamps for chrome.  The SEEG got mostly hidden work though.  Working inside the fairing and under the seat.  It did get a set of the Heat Demons heated grips installed but the only thing you see there is the switch :nixweiss: .

Was just checking the History Of CVO and if you would've had an '02 Red (Candy Brandy) SERK, '05 Red (Electric Cherry) SEFB, '05 Red (Two-tone Light/Dark Candy Cherry) SEVRod,  '06 Red (Scarlet Red Pearl & Charcoal Slate) SEVRod, '07 Red (Inferno Red & Desert Black) SEDyna, '07 Red (Light Candy Cherry & Black Ice) SEUC, '08 Red (Scarlet Red Pearl w/Dark Crimson) SEDyna, and a '09 Red (Ruby Red & Typhoon Maroon) SEUC along w/the 4 red bikes there you would have had all the Red CVO's (did I miss any :confused5:).

In looking up how many red bikes I discovered that there have only been 7 orange CVO's (8 if you count the Black/Orange SEUC).

Sorry we could not get together and really disappointed that you won't be at MV.

If I do get to SD again I will let you know!
