I'm 55 and have a forced type of retirement due to a medical issue. I've been thinking about of where to relocate for a few years now. I live in New Hampshire where we grow rocks in just about any place you want to put a shovel into. I love riding and warm dry sunny weather, and this State offers very little of each. Those long periods of cold, wet and windy gray days just depress the heck out of me. The depression can get pretty serious at times. My wife and I have a one bedroom log home with a very large barn on 7.5 acres of which we get a tax break because 50% of the land is under water. Call it a pond or a swamp either way it's wet and my $4,450.00 tax bill just arrived, and I get to receive another one every 6 month's. Ouch! next year it will go up $500.00 each billing period. That is over $800.00 per month just for taxes. Throw in a long heating season and that is why there is an empty spot where a 09 CVO SERG should be parked.
I did go to Loveland Co. about 20 years ago to look into running a Bow Mfg. company located on the main drag. That is some beautiful country. We left here during a wicked snowstorm in late March, we got off the plane with heavy winter clothes only to be greeted by a sunny 80 degree day with people wearing tank tops and skate boarding. We looked like lost Eskimo's. Needless to say the wife and I loved everything about it except the job. The town was super friendly and Estes park was unbelievable. Anybody want to trade? There is a magazine that I receive called "Where to Retire" and it covers all the topics one would need to start their search. I would highly recommend looking into a subscription if a person is serious about relocating. I'm sick just thinking about how beautifully it was out there, looking out the window right now it's cold, wet, windy and gray just like yesterday and the day before! Are we serious, well we called the Realtor 4 months ago and have been preparing the home to be listed in the spring. Life is just to darn short to be a talker and not a doer! Is that a word?
Let's keep the info coming! Someone will make it happen!
