Ther reason that you have not seen those brake lights is because of US legislation at the time.
Sounds fun now, but LED lights were not allowed at the time and The Maserati 3200GT, was therefore never imported to the US.

However, as a consequence Maserati changed the rear lights and renamed it to Coupé GT in 2002.
In my view those original tail light made all the difference.

Some other interesting factS about the 3200 GT is that it was the first model launched under Ferrari management and  the last to have a real Maserati engine.
