Title: Kojak's new ride!
Post by: kojak on February 17, 2021, 04:12:53 PM
Left the Shenandoah Valley this morning in 23 degree weather, rode 80 miles to Quantico and traded it on a 2021 CVO Limited! Ride back was a balmy 36 degrees, lol!

Yeah, Harley did a different version for this year. Its actually pretty good as I can attest to my winter ride today. So as many of the long term members on this forum have heard me say that the main reason to buy a cvo is the paint scheme. I bought this bike due to the fit and finish, the paint and how its just completely customized from the factory. Its almost impossible to find a chrome part on this bike. Its either painted bronze or gloss black. Harley did a lot to this bike to make it appealing to someone like me. They definitely did not skimp to save cost because many of the features on this bike are unique or upscale add-ons. The clutch is much less effort than the hydraulic version I have on my other cvo's. The electronics are vastly improved but now I have to study the damn manual since it works different from the 2017. Before I left the dealership, the tech showed me how to check codes and clear them, super simple with the new ecm. I had a chance to use the hill assist feature today, just squeeze the front brake lever 2 quick times and its on. Love it and I can see a lot of use for it on my 2 up mountain rides. Havent used the traction control feature yet but I like the idea of having it. Dont really care about the sirius radio being gone since I listen to my iphone playlists anyway, the second antenna mount is gone completely. I'll post a review once I get a few hundred miles on the bike, my wife of 30+ years and co-pilot on all my harleys said it best, "it looks like its worth what you paid for it"!

I have one, see it in the picture? LOL! Only gets used when my wife goes with me on our cross country trips. She packs too much crap to fit on a bike.

I did see it in the picture and knew from previous posts that you had one. You're a lot tougher than I am... older I get the more I hate cold weather. Arthur and his righteous joint brothers let me know when it gets cold... my knees wouldn't be able to bend/unbend after riding in that cold weather.

The sales dept at Quantico HD was easy and straight to deal with. They actually had to trade with another dealer to get this bike for me when they learned I was going to buy one. Probably could have gotten a better deal by a few hundred bucks by going back and forth with them and a MD dealer who had the bike in stock but that’s not my style. After a lifetime of hard work, I’m blessed to be able to afford something like this.

Did couple more things.I wanted to keep the awesome looking tips on the mufflers so had the stock baffles drilled out and installed fullsac 2.0 power cores with tech mat.
had chrome tie downs powder coated gloss black and installed. Perfect match, lol!
thinking about upgrading the sound system next. The stock system is improved enough where it’s almost there so no hurry

Got my bike back and the stereo sounds awesome. Thankfully, i have a good stereo guy as these focal HDK's were too big for the rear pods even with the adapter, the installer was able to add a spacer to move the pod out a bit and made it fit right. He also had to remake the front harness as the plug for the 2021 boom amp isnt the same as the plug for the focal amp. But he got it all done and the fit and finish is great.

Looks good, I have the Bronze Armor CVO Road Glide. Love the color and all the little touches you mentioned. I didn't like all the movement in the floorboards so I added the thrashin supply pieces. They really make a big difference in my comfort and stability.  Congrats Beautiful ride you've got.
