Fueling 525 OE+ Camchest Kit

(1/1)

McLarenCVO04:
Hey everyone. So I bought this kit for my 04 SEEG. Called the local  tuner and he tells me that the 525 cam that came with this kit wont work for my bike. He told me its going to start so hard it could break my starter gear unless I put compression reliefs in. Now I have done some research and cannot find one single post about that issue. I have since called another guy around here that was recommended and he believes it will be fine and not sure why I was told that. Can anyone give me some insight to this? I'm leaning toward trusting the second guy. Hell the first one told me it was going to take 12 hours to tune my bike. Let me know what you think and here is a link to the kit in question. https://www.jpcycles.com/product/10026682/feuling-525-oe-hydraulic-cam-chain-conversion-camchest-kit

HD Street Performance:
The static compression on the 103 is ~8.3:1.
Put Andrews 48n cams  in it, new cam timken bearings, and 2007 harley cam plate, oil pump and tensioners. All oem parts.
Find another shop that does tuning.

I see you're in Ohio...it's a bit of a drive for you, but I have had great luck with FKN Performance in Sandusky.  Small family owned shop that has done motor work to a few of my HDs and I have always been very pleased.

What did you end up doing? Give us an update. Pics? Parts? Dyno sheet?

McLarenCVO04:
Man so sorry I just realized you replied. I haven't been back in awhile!!

So it made 89Hp and 90Ft lbs. But I dont like the way it runs. It tends to backfire sometimes when starting and then when I shift it also pops. Then sometimes if I snap the throttle sitting at a light it will cough and try to stall. Currently looking for a new person to re-tune it with my dynojet. I am just not comfy enough to tune myself yet.
