Great pics, looks like yall had a great time. Hey Dave no Beanie?
-
Friends, we had (I) had one of the best weekends/birthdays ever! Friends like Marty and Paula just don't happen easy. I love riding and rock and roll, so what better way to spend a b-day weekend? As The Outlaws song says "You Are The Show"
The opening show was Henry Paul doing Blackhawk songs:
-
I scored the guitar pick Henry used for the show, this is a treasure to a collector like me.....
-
Plugged in and making your ears bleed.......The Outlaws
-
Were we close? I didn't spend much time in the seat I paid for!

It just doesn't get better for me, great wife and friends front row at a concert like this!
As you can see the eye contact was there, I got both drum sticks from Monty after he had played Green Grass and High Tides and Ghost Riders........
-
Randy Treet on bass.

-
Henry Paul's gretsch guitar. NO, there is no zoom used here, I was that close!
-
Yes, we did some riding! Mount Charleston outside of Las Vegas. My friend of 42 years Denis lives in Vegas now and took us on a small ride. The only bad on the ride was we got caught behind the Montgomery/Gentry ride on I-95! These road hawgs were going 50 in a 70 zone, police escorts, chase trailer covering BOTH lanes for miles.....The cage drivers were livid! And taking it out on us because we were on bikes. Sorry, but it was ugly!
-
:2vrolijk_21:
-
Yes! That is snow just outside Las Vegas, Nevada. And yes, those are short sleeve shirts. Over 8000 ft here.
-
OK, so I wised up and put on a shirt.
-
So after riding Saturday and my antics of Friday we were ready to relax.......NOT! You have seen the picture of Marty and Paula's room, overlooking the pool and stage. Well Creedence Clearwater Revisited was playing on Saturday. So we pulled chairs (A CVOHARLEY tradition) into their room, ordered pizza, shrimp cocktail, salad, etc, opened the window and set up to enjoy the show.
-
Well, some of you know me, that just wasn't good enough. Looking down I said to Marty, "We have room cards to get into the pool area, so let's go down and enjoy a smoke and get better sound. Grab a beer!
-
OK, so here is where it gets fun. Look, this gate goes into the concert area! It is un-locked and only has caution tape on it. Lets go! No, we need more beers. OK, so back to the room and grab some beers. Stuff them in your pockets, they don't have glass down there. So off we go after telling Paula and Donna of my plan (Marty thinks I am crazy and is only along for the ride here) we head back down. Now there is about 10 other hotel freeloaders standing along the gate as we walk to the caution tape. No problem! Walked right up, pushed open the gate and walked right in! Took our seats in the stands and enjoyed the show.
-
Come on, this is too far for me....So I set out to get closer (Marty was very happy to stay back and cover my back, in case), and this is where I ended up.
New lead vocals John Tristao....
-
Doug "Cosmo" Clifford on drums and Stu Cook on bass! Original members of Creedence Clearwater Revival..

Looks like you had a large time. Thanks for sharing awsome pictures. And welcome to the AARP club. See you guys soon. :2vrolijk_21:
-
Right after this shot I shook hands with Doug and asked fro a drum stick, he said "I have something better for you", walked back and got an autographed set list for me! I was already having the weekend of my life, and now I have a set list of Creedence songs autographed! This is too much.
-
I had a weekend I will never forget. Riding with Marty and Paula, my wonderful wife, a friend of 42+ years (Denis), 2 set lists from bands I love autographed, 4 guitar picks, 2 drum sticks, 2 CD covers autographed, and the topper.....I just got a call from a close friend, an old friend of Henry Paul. I passed his number on to Henry Friday night and they had a long talk today, he was so jazzed that Henry took the time to call and recall some old times. Life is good.
Now, what is wrong with this picture?
-
Dave I dont see a dam thing wrong with any of these pictures. Glad your 50th was a memorable one and I wish you many more to come. :2vrolijk_21:
