Here is a few shots from today. We had a VERY good day in the saddles, a little cool for Southern California standards, low 60s. Hitting Pacific Coast Highway after breakfast.
-
Through Malibu.
-

-
Onto Mulholland Highway.
-

Like I said, Great day out with friends. Thanks to Greg for setting this ride up and Brian for coming down, giving us a valid reason to ride.
I have more pictures I took with my 35mm, but those take a week to get developed these days, so more to come!
-
It was great to see and ride with you again Dave, it was really cool to finally witness the Legend Van do one of his vanishing acts.
Thanks for taking and posting the pics. :2vrolijk_21:

Sorry I missed out on what looked like a great ride! Hopefully next time...

The music was so loud that we couldnt talk anyway! Grampi was late getting back to babysit. 350 miles for me.

Good report Dave.
Saw many new faces I didn't recognize.
-
We met for breakfast at Patricks Roadhouse on the beach in Santa Monica.
-
Greg took very easily to the Throne Chair.
-
A stop at Simi Valley Harley where Greg got his bike tweaked.
-
Then Ojai for lunch at the Deer Lodge.
Pay attention now, from left to right thats, John, John, Dan, John, Dave, Mike, Van and Brian.
Did I mention that John rode with us today?
-
Lunch with Brian, Greg and Fred.
-
Even babies like Freds bike. Not sure what Dan is doing in the background.
-
Freds bike always attracts a crowd. Dan is still in the background playing "Hear No Evil".
-
"...what Dan is doing in the background?..."
A) I'm thinking "Oh, my gawd! That baby is oozing shyte all over Fred's custom seat!"
B) Just practicing my best imitation of Edvard Munch's "The Scream"
C) Talking on my cell phone, trying to hear over the live music and loud bikes
D) Trying to clear the ringing in my head after riding behind Fred (music AND exhaust volumes - am I right, guys?) :stars:
Answers: A and C
Sorry, Fred!
Dan
-
The answers are C and D.
With all due respect, Fred has the MOST incredible stereo system to ever roll down a freeway. As John S. said, "It's the Hollywood Bowl on wheels". And yes the exhaust is LOUD, but no more than some others with worked engines running a FatCat. But the stereo, it is something else. He is very courteous though, he turns it down in town and at lights, at least he did yesterday with us.
-
fred seems like a great guy maybe he can join the forum. does anyone know what he has done to the stereo? last time i thought the bags were going to fall off from all that bump. pretty impressive it makes the sesg set up look like its not even working
-
Van, I can put you in touch with Fred. If you want sound like that, you have to give up your saddlebag space. Sorry I did not get to see you but it was a great day with the guys and I got my brakes fixed. The twisties were fun with no rear brakes. :nervous: Great day! We even picked up two new members. ;D
-
Looks like a great time.
Ididn't see a Kawi police bike any where, did you all make Mark park and ride in the back? ;D ;)

It's there Roger. In the first Patricks Roadhouse photo. It's parked next to the white pick up truck. I do miss my CVO Ultra, but that Kawi is such a fun bike to ride.

Van,
Thanks for meeting up with me, and the tour through Pine Mtn.
-
Very nice meeting up with you guys, glad I was able to be a good excuse to go on a ride.

Looks like a good time and never forget...you never need a reason to ride... ;)
-
During my ride to Ojai, made a stop in McKittrick for breakfast. If you have never been there, the bar has a million penny's covering everything, including the pool table.

Don't have any idea about this guys politics, but he is obviously the right guy for the job......
-
We had a great weekend! Sunday, Bryan and I watched F-1 Monaco, and the Indy 500 which had a great finish. Then met my cousin Julie (right) and her friend Kona to ride the Santa Monica coast and Mountains. Stopped at top of Saddle Peak.
-
Saddle Peak is a great spot. You can see the San Fernando Valley, Calabasas and Agoura to the North and the coast from Palos Verdes to Ventura. Then of course there are women...
-
Pacific Palisades Bluffs overlooking Santa Monica.
-
Time to head home...
