Matt (EagleGlider) and his wife Mel flew out to Nor Cal to spend some time with other family members that flew in from different parts of the country. Matt & Mel rented a bike for a few days and the Nor Cal krew got together and did a tour ride of the area.

But first, Andy invited Matt, Mel, and several of the Nor Cal members up to his home last night to watch the UFC cage fights and just visit with each other.

This morning a number of members met at the Holiday Inn that Terrie & I, Matt & Mel stayed at last night. From there we took Hwy. 85 over to Hwy. 280 north to Woodside. From there we rode up to Skyline on top and to Alice's Restaurant for breakfast.

There, Chris & Anne (Ridin Ruby) were waiting for us. Breakfast was good, company was great. The weather forecast was for a high of 56 today however, as we were having breakfast we noticed that it was gradually warming and the overcast skys were starting to part and let a little sun shine in.

Sitting on the other end was our guests of the day, visiting from Florida.

Matt & Mel are relatively new on the forum (a couple of months) and haven't met many members yet. But if the opportunity presents itself (don't wait for it to.......make it happen) do yourself a favor.....get to know them. Great people!

This was 8:30 a.m. But on a typical weekend afternoon this parking lot will have a couple hundred motorcycles parked in it.......the same as the restaurant across the street. It's a motorcycle meca.

At a stop light in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, Jim & Sharon (Gadget) on the left and Matt & Mel on the rented Ultra Classic. I was surprised to see that they were able to rent an Ultra Classic.

None of these cars are parked........it's a four lane road and they're all stopped at a red light. The majority of Golden Gate Park was closed for a triathalon and so it created even worse traffic conditions than normal for SF.

We stopped in Tomales for lunch. We were supposed to meet Don (Iselbulls) and Soozie (Bandangirl) at the Korbel Champagne winery at about 11:30 a.m. but we were still and hour and a half away and it was 12:30 p.m. and no cell reception (to call Don & Soozie to let them know).

Heading out once again.

We never did meet up with Don & Soozie.....they went on. We eventually made our way to Hwy. 101 where Matt & Mel headed north to where they were to meet back up with their family. Terrie & I, Roger & Melanie, Chris & Anne, Jim & Sharon and Michael all got on Hwy. 101 south and headed for our homes.

It was a great day, a great ride, great weather and great people........and we all returned home on the same bikes that we left on, so it was all good!

YEEAAAHHHH!!!!!!

What a fantastic day!!! Thanks so much JC, Terry, Ernie, Andy and all of you that made it out to host us for the most memorable day of riding and comradery that both Mel and I have ever had. We were blown away by the hospitality of the Nor Cal Crew, truely the classiest folks. You guys rolled out the red carpet for us and we can't begin to express how much we appreciated that. Mel and I will be talking about this trip and you all for a very long time.

We're already trying to figure out how and when we're coming back to participate in more upcoming GTG's on the Pac Coast. Thanks JC for leading us on such a great route up the coast. Your Nav skills are awsome!

We're actually just waking up, here in Windsor with the family trying to decide what's on the day's agenda.

We'll post pics later tonight when we roll back in. Mel got lots of great shots of the crew and views.

She broke that pack not once but twice. She said "they didn't want to let me in so I could catch up with you guys....but I got in anyway!"

I had Ham'n Eggs, Hash Browns, orange juice and coffee. Perfect breakfast before a long day in the saddle.

Just woke up after arriving back home last night late. Ahhh, Central Florida; today’s forecast will be Sunny and 94* with a heat index of 103* with the Humidity... gotta love it.

I can't say enough about how great Golden Gate HD treated us. I'd recommend renting from them to anyone coming out to visit Nor Cal. I expected a generic black Classic and instead got a good look'n 09 Ultra. Make sure to ask for Raul if you rent from them. However, next time I ride Nor Cal it will be on my Glider though... I would have enjoyed those twisties a bit more on my scoot.

Wednesday Mel and I rode back over to Bodega Bay. We just had to go back and spend a little more time there. Just amazing views! Some early morning fog threatened to freeze us out but it worked out fine. The visibility was still good enough to get some great shots, photos to follow. A little lunch at the Tides Wharf Restaurant capped the afternoon off.
