Base gasket question

Are the base gaskets the same on a S&S 117 kit the same as Screaming Eagle’s kit? Mine blew out and need to replace. Also used a quart and a half of oil in 500 miles. Sum ting not rite !

Not sure which you have the S&S or the HD 117 but the HD kit will use an o-ring in place of a base gasket

use either the S&S paper or cometic 4.125" cylinder gaskets.I dont use SE stuff,but i dont think they even offer 4.125" bore stuff

Well after tearing apart the engine for another issue, I pulled the cylinders off. Turns out the gasket wasn’t blowing out but was excess gasket tearing.
