Title: 2018 CVO RG Fullsac Exhaust, Cam and Dyno Tune
Post by: hooperville on January 26, 2018, 08:27:46 AM
I've been reading these posts for months waiting for my bike to arrive...it arrived and I've made a few upgrades and wanted to share. Fullsac MX head pipe w/ 1.75 power cores, tech mat and screens, TTS tuner, heavy breather and SE 447 cam. I'm very happy with the results....now I'm just waiting for the snow and ice to melt up here in NH.

Nice. Which heavy breather are you using.

I’m using Harley’s heavy breather. I’ll attach picture.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180127/679ce7cb79c445acb20d82ca10b78e28.jpg)

With that kind of torque, you might want to shop around and buy the rear tires by the gross.   :P

Very nice torque curve on that, it sure comes on early with the torque cam.  All the torque is right where most people ride.

The Fullsac head pipe is the best head 2-1-2 head pipe for a M8 so far.   I got really good number with just the fullsac head pipe, 2.25 cores and the TTS an dyno tune.

Thanks Dave! I’ve been following your posts and after emailing Steve at Fullsac decided on these specs. I haven’t ridden it yet (live in NH) looking forward to the spring. The only question I have is when I rev it up and the end of the rev it has a little rattle sound like something is loose inside the baffles. Not sure if that’s normal or will go away once I have a few miles on it? Any guidance you may have on that would be much appreciated.

You might want to take a rubber mallet or something similar and tap around on your exhaust to check for anything that could have been left loose. Even one of the heat shields?? Might be a good place to start anyway.

I ran the mufflers with the 2.25 baffles for a few months before I did the head piper.  I never heard a rattle or strange noise.

I put the MX head pipe on.  Started it, let it warm a bit then gave it a rev and heard a strange rattle.  Could not figure out where or why nothing loose.  Can not duplicate it when riding.  Sounds great riding both accelerating and decelerating.

I have not figure it out.  Still hear a rattle now and then if I rev it, not moving.

Appreciate the insight. Glad to hear that it doesn’t rattle while riding.

The 1.75s sure gives some amazing torque improvement.  Really sorry you have to wait till spring to start enjoying the ride.    Great numbers.   Stuart.  :2vrolijk_21:

I have! Put about 80 miles on it and plan to put a few more this weekend. With the 117 and the torque cam, this thing has some serious power. The 1.75 Fullsac baffles are a little on the quiet side, thinking of swapping out for the 2.0 or 2.25. I love it! Thanks for asking.

Heading down to Havasu next week could anyone tell me how much I’d be looking at for exhaust and a tune from Steve ? I had his setup on my last bike but don’t remember the cost.

Header pipe is around 500...Powercores in existing CVO mufflers is around 175 installed...Not sure about his labor to put on both..
He uses the TTS Tuner , which I am not sure how much he charges for it.

Custom map is usually around 300 -400...Send him an email to make sure he can schedule you in.....Dyno tunes have to be done in the morning due to the heat and air density in Havesu..

If I remember right the MX head pipe is around 650.  About 100 more then the DX head pipe.

Laconia Harley Davidson performed all work. They were the only dealer in the area who would, being that it’s not epa compliant.

Will Laconia Harley stand by your warranty? I have same bike I did fullsac 2.25 ! I want to do the head pipe but my dealer said will void warranty! Was also wondering if you were able to use your heat shields ? I would like to keep the look.  Thank you.

I never rode the bike prior to the upgrades. I would assume significantly, given I also replaced the cam. Power comes on early and is maintained. I’m very happy with the results! When you roll on the throttle, you really feel the torque.
