Wiring harness for tour pack air wing luggage rack LED light.

Can anyone shed some light on what splitter I need to get the brake light that is under the chrome luggage rack to work? I bought a tour pack from a fellow member and the harness that came with it only works the lights built into the tour pack not the little one under the luggage rack. When I look it up the light is part # 68271-08a with the smoked lens but the instructions say the harness is not sold separately. When I went to the local dealer the parts kid gave me part # 70683-08 which is for 14 and up sportster. Glad I didn't have him order it without checking as the TP lock he ordered to match my bike key was wrong also.

Look at item 14 on the instructions:

14.   
Locate and disconnect three pin AMP connector for Tour-Pak lights.

You can purchase the AMP connectors from your dealer and make your own Y-harness.  Or you can use a Posi Tap to tie in to the existing wiring.  Just match up the wire colors.

Brad - sounds like you need to tap into the rear brake lights. There’s an access plug under rear fender or seat.  Might be bundled up or near side cover.  It Uses the smaller plug coming out of tour pak.  If not, I’m not sure of harness part number but your local dealer should have it handy.  Let me check around & see what I can find for u.

I connected mine to the harness behind, or under, the rear seat at lower front of the tourpak. Been a couple years but seems like it was covered in the instructions pretty well. I do remember it only took a few minutes once I got the wires ran thru the tourpak rack tubing  itself and into the tourpak.

Hi there I saw your reply to this thread,    my wire from the luggage rack wont reach the female end .. Theres like a good 3 inch gap.. Is there an extension for these?  Pls text if possible.  Thank you 9493575119
