That's just stupid

I agree Jim!
So when the bike takes a tumble she will stay in the roll cage being bounced around as it bends and flexes.
YEP, stupid idea!

Take it easy guys.  What if she's paralyzed and need it to be able to stay on the bike.
Looks better and safer than side-car.

If she were paralyzed her feet would be strapped in or have some other foot restraint. I think what it is, is a old Florida female retiree scared of bikes and her lunatic husband decided and convinced her that he would build her a cage to keep her safe, safe from falling over maybe, safe in a collision with a vehicle, I doubt it. The Driver is an idiot himself because now if the bike tilts a little too much he won't be able to stick a leg out and save it. Of course he is not strong enough to save it anyway if it goes a little to far. Those are just two BoZo's on a bike out to get their free hamburger at the dealer.

Don't see the wheelchair / crutches but to each their own. Personally, I'd do a trike or ragtop.

I have to agree with HUNTER on this one, if you look by the rear axle, it looks to be a seatbelt mechanism. This guy probably has a heart of gold and maybe does this for his child or make Make-a-Wish kids.  Give the poor guy a break,,,,,,,,Think if it was for your handicapped kid!!!!!!!!!!

Again I agree.
A roll cage in a car is one thing but on a bike it's just asking for parts to be hung up on signs, holes, other vehicles if it goes down.
I agree that the intentions may be good but the likely result from a accident with this attached will be worse than if it was never there.
JMHO!

that thing weighs 63#!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

www.babecage.com    what a freakin joke!!!!!!!!!!

Just learn to ride safely or stay the hell off!

From the Web Site:
The tubes are made of Chromalloy only weighs 63lbs and don't bend easily, besides the bike will fall over before any bending occurs.  The occupants will be ok if they stay on the bike. (Majority people die when they are thrown from a car etc. when not seat belted in) Obviously if you go over a cliff etc you'll die whether you're on or off the bike. So if you stay in the vehicle or on the bike you have a better chance of survival. I think that if a car hits you with the cage, you'll have a better chance then without, don't you think? As for any comments on weight distribution, the bike rides the same because the tubes don't add much weight (only 63lbs) or top heavy aspects either.
The passenger still has great visibility/freedom and has the feeling of being more secure (testimony from passengers who have ridden on back, no complaints at all !!)
I will also incorporate netting for the passenger sides to keep hand and arms in the seating area, just like race cars.
Just some thoughts from Jim the inventor-

He actually thought about this! I think disabled kids would be scared to death when they see this contraption, especially if they were a little scared already. Hell, it scares me and I'm in my house behind a screen. If I want to be scared I'll fly.I could see certain types buying into this though as I said before. It's not even a good design. I do think all the CVO Riders should put one on your bikes.I'd put one on my bike but I'm disabled.

that thing is awesome. i want to get one for mine!!!! lol. notice the extra lights on the cage, if you were really creative you could look like a UFO at night. for that matter you still kinda look like one.  :bananarock:

Looks to me like someone's wife said the kids don't get to ride it's too unsafe.

So, being an inventor (and male) he set out to "solve" the problem. :nixweiss:

This is an answer to a question that should never have been asked and the solution already exists.....A CAR :bananarock:

IF they were so worried about safety, where is the orange vest?  Get a Vette, or wait he appears to fan of the foreign make, get a Miata.  (No offense to the guys whose wives own a Miata and he occasionally drives it, just to get the oil changed)!!!

I don't care what they say...you move 63 pounds around on a bike and you're changing the center of gravity.  On a car 63 pounds wouldn't make that much of a difference, but that weight can deffinitely make a difference on a bike.  I can't believe that she is in a 4-point harness too!!  Like Chip said, if they have an accident, she'll be all locked up in there while that cage twists and bends...that is more dangerous than safe IMO.  :confused5:

What it really needs is a couple of coozies mounted on the up bars.  That way you could keep your beer cool and have it handy too!

or even a hammock so they can take a nap while traveling or stopping for the night. Maybe even a clothesline, satellite dish, kitchen sink to wash off the gravel that's going to be stuck in your butt from falling over.

My first question is , how do you get on it?
step inside the cage first? then try to swing your leg over?

One suggestion though would be, (since you are planning on the crash) put wheels on the top and sides of the cage. It will keep going that way.

That is truly a "Camel", a horse designed by committee

She's on top.  He's on bottom.  He just lays there.  She falls asleep.  She falls off.  Thus, "Obviously, she can't sleep without falling off."

Soooooo, Maybe if he was better at his "duties", she'd stay awake!!!!
