Fuelpak map for 08 fxstsse2..
« on: February 07, 2015, 09:11:22 PM »

hey guys...
my better half has been listening to me talk about getting a sert tuning done and surprised me thursday with a fuelpak.. its the thought that counts :) ..

anyhow,  now ive got the fuelpak and dont want to kill it for her (yet) so i thought ide try it out, i sent V&H a map request  thursday but no reply yet, is anyone running one and have the values handy by any chance?

im running a big radius 2-2 with baffles.. thats it, no additional mods and not planning any, my intentions are to cool the motor a little bit during slow speeds/idling, and stop the decel popping, and ofcoarse whatever additional power is added would be nice

Sheeit mate , how did the bike get from 2008 to present without a "Tuner device" already already ?

Big Radius curved ( if that's what you have ?) are the HARDEST pipes to stop decel popping in my experience here in Australia.

Sorry can't help with the fuelpak , I have no experience of those units , I'm an older ORIGINAL v477 SERT guy , or a TTS guy

I would say i don't think the Fuelpak will help with the decel popping. You also may have to disable the O2 sensors ?

All the best with it and let us know how you go !!

V&H turned out to be helpful, but im sticking with the SE pro super tuner, taking the bike to harley on monday for cams and sepst..

and in case you guys ask.. im still under HD's extended warrantee.. till 2017, so they HAVE to do the work with HD parts.

The SEPST would have worked well with your stock 255 cams mate

I still have them in my 2008 CVO Springer , and the bike pulls real well from down low. It has an original SERT

Runs out of puff sooner than more radical cams but it's quick off the lights and accelerating from low revs

Indeed it's a quicker bike from rest than my other CVO , a 2013 Breakout ! Tuned with SEPST

The Breakout has 259E cams and 10.5 : 1 pistons AKA "1800 Pro upgrade kit" and pulls well higher up the rev range ( like a Ducati !)

The Springer is a torque monster , and in some ways is more fun to ride

What cams are the dealer doing for you ?

hey brother..
they are telling me to go with the 257 cams and porting, but on paper it seems im actually going to lose off the line and gain mid to top, where as my intentions are low to mid, 2500-4500, not 3500-5500 that they are recommending..

can anyone else chime in?

As said already already , the 255 "stock" cams in the CVO are all about low down torque

Another friend of mine here in Perth Western Australia has the 2008 "Anniversary" colour ( sorry "color" haha..) CVO Springer

He fell in love with my Black Diamond FXSTSSE2 and sought a bike out in North Carolina to bring to Australia.

He ( like me !) has stayed with the 255 cams and stock heads etc. We just tuned it using an "older" original SERT unit

We're using a calibration for cable throttle 1800 CVO with " race exhaust " to suit his Bub Jug Huggers true duals

Bike pulls like a train on 98 Octane unleaded fuel that we can buy in most gas stations in Australia

Now I'm 56 and he's 58 so the bikes go well enough for us.

I think it's more likely to be 259e cams they're putting you onto , thay're the most recent derivation.

They will move your power curve to the right , ie higher up the rev range , fine if that's what you want
